I'm in the same boat as edvore, I needed resources. I reasoned that any even remotely popular game would have a fan-made resource extractor specific to it. I searched Google, I found the YouTube videos, and then in a roundabout way it led me here...so I guess I'm also in the same boat as LOLSpark.
I was in maybe 7th grade when Donkey Kong Country was released, I got really exited about it. I remember drawing Donkey from a cereal box promoting it. They weren't very good drawings mind you, I gave him a duck bill, drew his nostrils way too big, and forgot the chest muscles. I got better though, and I drew DKC/DKC2 fanart all the way up into high school. I didn't own a copy until much later, but I was able to borrow it and the sequel from a few people. I remember having a bunch of friends over when I beat the first one, and we all laughed at Donkey and Diddy fighting before the credits.
I really like Jungle Beat, you guys. It's AWESOME. I bought it brand new for $15! It was the only fresh gamecube game I owned - I'm always behind on consoles and have to buy used, you see. I'm reluctant to play it lately though, I let a friend borrow it and he LOST THE CASE AND MANUAL. How can you fail to keep track of a DVD case? It's MUCH larger than the disc, even. Of course I'd rather he lost the case than the game, but that's still pretty ironic! AND ANNOYING! HOW CAN ANYONE BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE
Sorry about that.
Back to DKC resources. I've been lurking in the DKCRE thread as a guest for a while, and tonight I saw Simon was on and finally decided to join to tell him he's doing a great job and I'm chomping at the bit for the next release, hopefully in such a way that would sound encouraging, and not demanding. He's here, so he'd see it right away! But then I thought, wait, what if he's updating the thread right now?. Such a post would look really silly right before his, and especially right after, my timing what it usually is on forums. He was gone by the time I signed up, so either way it's moot, I guess. I'll still head back over there after I'm done with this very post. Which is now.
In short, I think Donkey Kong Country is a pretty cool guy. eh fights Kremlings and doesn't afraid of anything.
