I sort of outlined this in the other DKC art thread, but I'll say it again here.

I've decided to put myself to the test, and try to draw each of the DKC franchise's characters and enemies among other things. I'll try and upload at least one extra character each week if I can.

I'll be using coloured pencil to draw most drawings - although I do prefer pencil sketching, I think it may look better if they have a bit of colour. Expect the odd one out to be a simple pencil sketch though... when I get lazy.

Since the secondary objective of the project is to improve my skills as I go along, I might come back and do redraws of some of the older drawings which I don't feel are up to scratch. In this case I'll keep the older drawing up with the newer version next to it for comparison.

I did Klump already, but I think I could probably do a better job of him later. I was thinking about doing Klubba, too.

I need to look at the Kremling anatomy a bit first... anthropomorphic lizards are harder to do than I originally thought.

I'm not too familiar with Hogwash, seeing as I don't actually own the original Donkey Kong Land - I've only played it a few times on friends' gameboys (blasphemy, I know, I know). Ah well, hope you enjoy.

That's kay, you're right.

I don't really spend as much time with these drawings as I would a normal picture, so often I won't add very much detail in the shading and texturing, else it takes me too long to churn them out.

That said, I will go back and redo some of the drawings later on in different poses etc, and some of the ones that were really small in the original drawing, I may do a little larger so I can use more detail etc. Whatever works.

Here's Krow. Not my best, but looks alright. Original black pencil's lead broke halfway through, so I had to use a new one which gives an awful textured look - see the hat. Ah well.

My earliest memories of the DKC series was when I was a wee lad and went to a daycare place in the holidays for kids up to 12 years old. They had a SNES there and had rented DKC3 but nobody could beat Barbos's second phase.

Bumping this back up again... not because I have new art, but because I'd like to take another approach with this topic.

At the moment... I have study. For midyear exams and all that rubbish. So it's very unlikely that I'll be able to post much artwork, definitely not as much as before.

I was thinking this topic could start a new, in that the goal would be the same, except the way it would be achieved, different. I still want to have cool artwork for each of the DKC characters, but I'm not able to do this myself. So instead, I propose that anybody interested or with a bit of talent try their hand at drawing some DKC characters.

You can draw any character you like, whether somebody else has done it already or if it hasn't been done before. New drawings are great, but different styled pics are awesome, too. You can use any media you like - computer graphics program, pencil, pen, paint, collage - as long as you're not just taking someone else's work and editing it around. This includes sprites and gameart.

If you want to try your hand, make sure you're only drawing one character in the picture. Multiple characters on the same page are fine if they can be split up via an image program. Either way, submit your pic once it's done and I'll add it to the list with your name alongside it.

That's all I have to say, really. Add your thoughts if you like.

How about trying to draw Kleaver? It sounds simple enough, and it could end up looking cool .
