Re: DKC Mapping Project for DKC Atlas

well I did offer to map the bonus rooms for DK1 but I don't think there is any point in me doing it Simion since you have a much more accurate way of doing it. :)

Re: DKC Mapping Project for DKC Atlas

Cool. So all the bonus rooms for a particular level are joined together like that? Or did you tell your extractor to join them? I think I see a seem joining the second bonus with the first?

Re: DKC Resource Extraction Tool

Great work Simion! Got a few curiosities. :) - Probably obvious but are you also going to include extraction of sprites/background objects in png formats like you did with the level tiles? - How did you manage to accurately include the alpha channels? This was the most impressive part of the program...

Re: Games with awesome jungle areas

Those are some really inspirational shots! I really need to do some more 3D Modeling. I think those jungles in crysis are bit too realistic for DKC though. But they would deffinitely still be amazing in a 3D dk game. In Turok2 there are also some pretty good jungle/ruin type environments.

Re: The Donkey Kong Country Level Builder

Thanks for your reply Simion. I guess having your own code is definitely better. Would make it easy to modify add your own graphics and whatnot. Never heard of this game before... Kinda out of the gamming loop lately. but I just read the Okami review on ign and looked at some videos. Re: What new game should I get for my Wii?

Hmm. Well Brawl does look like the best Smash Bros game in the series and I would actually get it if I was a fan of 'fighting' games. I'm sure there are quite a few other good games for the Wii but I usually get drawn towards certain games that just 'feel' like games I will like. Usually those games...

What new game should I get for my Wii?

I'm thinking on buying a new game for my Wii. It's been so long since I truely played a game. Last I played was metroid prime3 and before that was WindWaker. Now I'm feeling game deprived lately. ;) So I was thinking on Zelda Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy or wait for Mario Kart. I want all 3...

Awesome stuff Qyzbud! Having a guide like this surpasses any printed strategy guide. :) - The functionality in your demo seems good to me. Cool. Well take your time. :) I like how you can see the final death poses after you kill a baddie and the stationary animations. I kinda wanted something like for animation reference incase I ever decided to animate one of the characters in the game. Good work!

Great patch Simion. I finally got around to trying it. This seems like it will be useful for ripping animations now that the sprites stay still.

I noticed a small bug though. The Slippas in Reptile Rumble move 1pixel about every 5 seconds.

Re: DKC Mapping Project for DKC Atlas

Most of my finished map terrain is extracted directly from savestates, not from screenshots at all. Savestates? How exactly did you extract the maps using savestates? I tried using a tile extractor before and I needed to use savestates to find the right colour pallet. Is this kinda what your doing?...
