Re: Curse you Japan!!!

Well, look at what I found... a black Wii and Wiimote are coming to the U.S. after all. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6233179.html It was only a matter of time. If I didn't already have a white Wii, I would most definitely go after the much better looking black one... (like I said before, white as a ...

Re: Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver

I've been looking forward to this game ever since I've heard of it. G/S/C were among my favorite games, so it's nice to see them on the DS again, with improvements made since they were originally released. It's kinda annoying that the English language version takes many months to be translated, but ...

I've played all three Donkey Kong Land games on a Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, and Game Boy Player, and they all worked fine, so I can rule out the possibility of that. I don't have any monochrome Game Boy, though, but I doubt the three DKL games would have problems on a mo...

Re: The DKL3 soundtrack topic!

Well, it seems that at some point, the file got deleted, just as I predicted it would. I needed to improve the quality anyways, so I ripped the songs from scratch. This time, I used VBA-M instead of a fork of VBA 1.8.0 to rip the songs, since VBA-M has better sound with GB/GBC games (and both of the...

The errors in DKL2's instruction manual.

When I first got DKL2 and read the manual ← new link! , I noticed that there were quite a few errors in it. It seems that Rareware copied DKC2's manual and didn't put much effort into proofreading it. (And the funny thing is that I got DKL2 long before DKC2, so I remember being confused at some of t...

Wow... you're right. Why wouldn't they release a black Wii in America? For years, there have been only white Wiis, and that's the most boring color! So I was playing the Japanese version of this game (as well as DKL2, more on this below) to see if there were any gameplay differences at all. So I was playing the Japanese 1.1 version of DKC2, and I found an obvious difference. In Kong Kollege, after saving for the first time, it only costs one Banana Coin instead of two, which is what it is in American versions (and possibly others, I haven't bothered to check). I've seen some sites with the DKL soundtrack before, all with the same names like "Snowy Pig Wings" or "Spinning Diddy Coin." This doesn't really sound like it's official, plus the fact that there would be an official DKL soundtrack but not DKL2 or DKL3 is also bizarre. So are th...

No Animal Sign counts as a defeated enemy

In the SNES version (no idea about the GBA version), losing an animal friend by crossing a sign counts as defeating an enemy. This is useful in Bash the Baddies style bonus stages with an animal friend and a No Animal Sign at the end. In these stages, you can miss one enemy and you can still get the...

Rare reusing music in games

Rare sometimes reuses music from one game in another, even if they are from different series. A good example of this is the boss music from Donkey Kong Land.
