Re: DKC Atlas Level Mapping Project: BIG DKC3 UPDATE!

I've looked at some of the maps -- while I am impressed at the ripping job (it must have been hard work), I do have to mention one thing -- I noticed that various areas that are off-screen look odd, and are generally incomplete. Rocket Rush exemplifies this issue, where there are lots of off-screen ...

Odd PFLOYD string in DKL...

No, I'm not making this up. At ROM offset 0x6F7A (in both the English and Japanese versions of Donkey Kong Land), you can find a PFLOYD string. It's followed by four other bytes, 00 00 05 03, and this ten-byte string is copied to AA00-AA09, AA40-AA49, and AA80-AA89 in RAM, for each of the three save...

Thanks for getting around to adding that DKC2 difference! Now I'm posting to mention a DKC3 difference that I recently found... It's in Krevice Kreepers, not too far into the level. I'm getting logged off constantly, even when I have the checkbox to keep me logged in checked. It happened all day yesterday and it also just happened now, so it's an ongoing issue. It seems to happen often when I enter the chat room and then leave, but I'm not 100% sure if this is the cause.

Re: Diddy Kong Pilot: 2001 Alpha has been Released!!!

It's nice that this has finally been released to the public! I like this build better than the 2003 build, even though it is far from finished. I've actually taken notes on this for quite a while, but I finally decided to post this information to others to use. Thanks! While I can't say exactly how much time I spent on this, it's significant and I often spent at least 10 hours a week (sometimes even more) when I was working on this. Donkey Kong Land 2 & 3 Map Dumper

Hello everybody, I have created a program that rips level maps from Donkey Kong Land 2 and 3. Yes, it works for two games at the same time, since DKL3 was heavily built off DKL2 (not too surprising, it has the same physics, similar graphics and sound effects, etc.) It works for all versions of these...

I don't know how SNES headers work, but I'm wondering if the DKC3 prototype header is similar to the final DKC3 header (minus the checksum, assuming the SNES uses one like the GB does, since the data will likely be different). Nintendo does love to deny plans for future games, even if they come to light eventually. They've had a long history of this, but who knows if we'll see a Donkey Kong game for the 3DS. Wow, I didn't know about that situation with SMB2. While I did know about the prototype from years ago, I didn't realize that the person who dumped the ROM backstabbed the person who let him use it. Pressing A+B+Select+Start is definitely part of the software if that's what you're talking about. To the hardware, it's not any more significant than any other button combination. K. Rool's Last Stand glitch (DKL3)
