Re: Music That Inspired the Soundtracks of the DKC Trilogy

Yeah, I can definitely hear the similarity there. Nice find! :D Actually, that reminds me of another similarity. There's an old PC game I used to play called Jazz Jackrabbit that had a track called Scraparap: YqCXPPmUqns The whole track kinda reminds me of the first section (0:00 - 0:38) of Mining M...

Re: Where are my music producers?

I make remixes of video game music, although it's been a few years since I've actually finished anything. I mostly do DKC tracks, and I've tried several different genres. My main style at the moment is kinda rock ballad-ish, I guess? I use a program called 'Reason'. I've also had one remix pos...

Re: FL Studio for composing custom DKC music

I've never used it, so I can't tell you if it's any good, but Reaper is a fairly cheap program, and it allows you to trial it so you can see if it does what you want first. As for extracting the music, I know ZSNES at least allows you to mute certain audio tracks (other emulators probably have this ...

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze — Dixie Kong traile

Something kind of interesting I noticed about the balloon level video (the one labelled 'Aqueduct Assault") is that the music actually changes as DK progresses through the level - once as he's riding on the rising balloon and once directly after the section. It's not new to the series (Rambi Ru...

Re: Music That Inspired the Soundtracks of the DKC Trilogy

I think "We Are Going On Down" by Deadly Sins may have been the inspiration for Disco Train . There's a lot of similarities, in particular the 'whoa's sound a lot like 0:14 of Disco Train. Here's another version that has an extra melody at 0:17 that sounds a lot like the intro of Disco Tra...

Krem Quay for me too. I didn't really like the swamp levels, Glimmer's Galleon or Slime Climb. Although it does have my favorite level in it (Rattle Battle). Also Glimmer's Galleon is pretty fun if you use Squitter (with codes).

Koindozer Klamber for me too. Also, the GBA version of Springing Spiders is a lot harder than the SNES version, mostly due to the slow camera, so that's probably tied with KK for me.
