Re: Donkey Kong Country remake HTML5

Hi ribis , welcome to DKC Atlas. This all sounds pretty neat; perhaps you and udivision could join forces... He has also been developing a DKC engine with Construct2 (although progress seems to have halted of late): http://dkca.net/f/t1849 Oddly enough, I actually commented in his projects' thread ...

Re: Donkey Kong Country Web Engine [Construct2/HTML5]

@Phyreburnz I saw those and they're really well done! I'll get around to incorporating your work when I can. @Super Luigi! Well, you're in the mouth of giant Crocodile cave thing so... But yeah, DK (and eventually Kiddy) can do the water bounce although as it is now DK can only do it once. I plan on...

Re: Anyone willing to make DK Character GIFS?

@Super Luigi! Haha, thanks. @Qyzbud DKCRE should work well, I've exported all the sprites from it. I'm probably going to have to do some cropping but it's better than working with sprite sheets. Too bad it only works with DKC 1. @Jeffrey_Bones If you're up to it, you could help with the basics of Di...

Re: Anyone willing to make DK Character GIFS?

Would using Simon's DKC Resource Editor be easier than using a pre-existing sprite sheet? If it is, I could just make the animations myself.

The priority sprites are actually Diddy's basic sprites since I want to implement character switching.

Anyone willing to make DK Character GIFS?

Hi all, I was wondering if people would be willing to compile the Country spritesheets into GIFS? That would help me personally with my own DKC engine, but I'd assume it also help other people as well. If you're not inclined to be a programmer, making these animations would be a great way to help wi...

Re: Donkey Kong Country Web Engine [Construct2/HTML5]

^That's.... quite a post. I guess I'll follow it with a teaser for the next update: http://i.minus.com/ijHqCEbxhZdxt.png Water and Carting will make their debut in the next update. Just like DKC3, Barrels will float in the water. Also, Donkey is able to perform Kiddy's water roll bounce thing.... Yo...

Re: Donkey Kong Country Web Engine [Construct2/HTML5]

^Oh nice, I'll be sure to use the sprites from the mapping project.

Cyclone wrote:Nice update. This fan game looks really promising. Can't wait for to play it.

You can actually play it now if you want. It's not going to be a full fledged game though, just a system for people to make their own.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Web Engine [Construct2/HTML5]

Technically, of course.
But having that happen automatically, in the browser, and without having to run an EXE makes a huge difference.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Web Engine [Construct2/HTML5]

Thanks. I guess I just liked the idea of having a web based engine because it can be more accessible. You don't have to download the games, updates can happen without patching or redownloading, and sharing it is as easy as sharing a YouTube video. Admittedly, the name DKC Web does make a lot more se...

Re: Donkey Kong Country Web Engine [Construct2/HTML5]

@Markester Construct 2 is a rival game engine of sorts for Game Maker, but less popular.

@VideoViking I'll send you the pics later today, and I'll get around to updating the name in the other places I've posted this.
