DKC3 beta shots

Postby Kiddy14 on May 17th, 2008, 3:35 pm

Yeah, but I can't find the video again! It was in Youtube, don't remember if it was a DKC2 video featuring DKC3 things at the end, or was a DKC3 video with Beta shots at the end, anyway I remember this things:

1.- Kiddy's Idle animation was when he beated a bonus for the first time, most likely like DKL3's.
2.- Kiddy wasn't with Dixie, she was there, but she was static, chewing and blowing her gum xD
3.- There were scenes from Doorstop Dash and Arich's Ambush from what I remember, both with the static Dixie.

That's everything, if somebody has seen this somewhere too please tell me, I'll try to find this video again D=

I found it!
It took me 3 months but I did! =D
Donkey Kong Country 3 Brazilian TV Ad

1.- The game's subtitle was "Dixie's Double Trouble".
2.- Arich's Ambush doesn't have a little branch in the right tree.
3.- There aren't any "happiness" indicators in Swanky's Sideshow game.
4.- The brother bear featured in the video moves weird, plus he's gray.
5.- No little boxes in the top-right part of the screen when visiting the brother bear.
6.- Apparently Funky still wasn't a mechanic, he's still air-boarding!
7.- Mechanos has no factories in it (in the world map).
8.- Dixie stays in place.
9.- Kiddy's Idle is the same as his when winning a bonus for the first time.
10.- There's an odd dock level. To the left there's a Y banana formation, a buzz and a steel barrel. Probably an early design from Lakeside Limbo.
11.- Ellie in a snow level!
12.- There are Neeks! In Doorstop Dash, Squeals on Wheels and Lakeside Limbo.

I'm sure I've seen this ad before, but not having played DKC3 at that time, I would have never been able to notice any beta scenes

Hey, good job tracking it down!

I'd love to host all of these old game promotions and advertisements somewhere on the Atlas, but I must say YouTube's quality really doesn't cut it. It might be tricky to find better quality sources, though - at least this is a start.

By the way, you sure did a great job 'spotting the differences'. ;)

Not just the quality, i especially miss the german ones. Damn, I wouldn't even recognize them anymore!
It would be awesome if Nintendo and other game companies simply provide their old videos and ad's on their website...

Thanks =P

Here are some differences I missed:

13.- Dixie isn't shaded.
14.- THERE IS A RIPSAW IN BARREL SHIELD BUST-UP!
15.- Bananas aren't animated.
16.- A banana bunch over the first Neek in Squeals on Wheels is missing.
17.- A DK Barrel is missing in Barrel Shield Bust-Up.

we had the shots at the nintendo company but we deleted the beta gameplay but we must of forgot to get rid of some things. thats the issue with our game programmers. instead of deleting it they improve it. and the static buble gum was actually going to be a prank cheat but that would be anoying.

You call that an issue?! My, you really don't want Nintendo to be innovative on anything, do you?

Why complain about some beta footage getting out? It's not like it's so secret it could destroy the world.

In my opinion it's always interesting to see how things are developed, what it was like during development.
