You should have combined the DK arcade trilogy, and added DK land trilogy, and maybe put Diddy Kong Racing on there.

You shouldn't have named the topic "DKC favorites". As DKC stands for Donkey Kong Country, and all those games aren't DKC games...

DKC2, hands down. I like it because it is the most challenging and is more exciting than the other games. Also DKC2 has a lot of barrel-blasting.

I voted DKC3. I like the other two games and all, and the trilogy as a whole is my absolute favorite, but nothing in my opinion beats the sheer awesomeness of DKC3. Maybe I've just played the other games too many times.....

Nothing has topped the first for me. DKC gets my vote.

...You know, I really can't pick a favorite from the Donkey Kong series. DKC3 was my favorite Country game, but then you have Donkey Kong 64, which I really liked alot. The arcades and Jungle Beat were fun too. (OMGZ TIPTUP LIEKS JUNGLE BEAT? FTW!!!!111!!!111!1!ONE)

I shall reflect on this and vote in the morning.

Donkey Kong Country 3 it is! I have many a fond memory of playing DKC3 late at night when everyone else was asleep... It is, in my opinion, the BESTEST DONKEY KONG GAEM EVAR LULZORS!!!11!

I find it amusing that the only games being voted for are Donkey Kong Country games.

Really? I find it obvious why everyone is voting for Donkey Kong Country games.

I liked DK64, the DKC's were also good.

I don't have Jungle Climber yet, but I know we'll be the best of friends

DKC3 gets my vote. The levels are very original and all of them have something special about them. The soundtrack is the best, it has different moods in one same song. The level archetypes are very detailed and almost lifelike (when I was younger, I actually thought the mountains in the dock levels were real photos).

And you can fight against a giant belching barrel.

I say i have to agree with potogamer. But there were problems with DKC3. They took out the most awesome buddy and replaced him with an elephant thats scared of mice. yes very creative but i would of loved to take down some enemies Rambi style. It also has weird glitch's, kiddy couldn't jump properly but the ideas were very original and creative.

But my favorite has to be DKC2.
DKC2 brought heeps of new ideas and stuff like better climbing, piggie backs, new enemies, lava, cannonballs, slime, animal charge ups and abilities, different themes and animals (while still keeping the best ones) and overall it was a great game. But both the playable characters were the same except dixie could fly. Still a pretty cool feature.

DKC has mine carts and a very original feel to it. It also has donkey kong as a playable character, a big guy who is the opposite of diddy. Not like dk2 were the characters are the same in the way they are both small and fast.

I voted for DKC, but it was VERY close between that and DKC2.

I've come to love the DKC1 soundtrack even more than the DKC2 one (Cmon, it's got Gangplank Galleon..and the treetop theme, and Northern Hemispheres..and Jungle Japes..and..although DKC2 did have Lockjaw's and Rollercoasters and K.Rool's theme was simply epic in that game..)

But apart from the music, I think DKC captured the idea best, just a simple island, simple plot, (although I still dunno why K. Rool has a banana fetish) and it had Donkey Kong playable as well, and he and Diddy made the best team in my opinion as I felt they complimented each other best.

Oh and I of course loved DKC3 and DK64, but the first two were teh bestest ever.

Holy crap dude, that was a big effing bump.

But DKC2's pretty cool.

Kinda close between DKC and DKC2, but I have to go with Donkey Kong Country 2.

I changed my mind, i think 3 is better.

I never liked that map system in DKC2. I hard to say which path leads where.

Jungle Beat, definitely.

The control method is unique, to say the least, and it works great. Plus, the combo system is easy to learn/understand, and yet quite difficult to use to its full potential.

Definitely Diddy's Kong Quest. That one holds a special place in my heart. There's something incredibly awesome about the game in general. Must be Diddy, Dixie, and the pirate theme. Pirates are kewl.

Donkey Kong Country and Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! are also very good, which should be obvious. I like the third because it was the first DKC I ever played.

Other favorites of mine are Diddy Kong Racing, DKCReturns, DK64, and Jungle Climber. DKLand, too.
