The second half is a Run! Rambi, Run! remix, which starts at 2:50.

That post used to have something in it but I deleted it, and since we can't delete our posts I put a  there. I didn't think anyone would notice, especially since it's outdated. A mod can delete it if they feel like it.

The one that was in the other post was an outdated version, which (if I remember how it sounded) sucked. Since the post was made in April and I didn't think anyone would notice, I just deleted everything instead of putting the new one. I was going to make a new post with the new version in it when I had time.

....that's not a Run! Rambi, Run! remix. :?

However, at 4:18, a remix combining Jib Jig and K. Rool Returns (title screen) plays for a few seconds.

I'm probably wrong, but I think I heard a bit of Nuts and Bolts (DKC3 Factory theme) in there, or something that sounded like it.
(Part of it sounded a little like the Banjo Tooie Atlantis theme too, but I'm probably way off there XD)

The actual remix starts at 3:32, but you can't hear any of Run! Rambi, Run! right away. It slowly fades into Run! Rambi, Run! Try

4:59. You can't tell me you don't hear anything there. There's some of Run! Rambi, Run! before it, but 4:59 is the main part.

I can hear that Rambi Rumble chase theme in there for sure, as Kong Fu pointed out. This track has quite a lot of clever little melodic references to different DKC2 tracks. Maybe we ought to send a message to djpretzel and let him know, so he can improve the remix info page. All significant source tunes should really be noted there, not just Crocodile Cacophany.

If you haven't yet noticed the announcement on the DKC Atlas news feed, there's a new remix of Hot-Head Hop available on OC ReMix:

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest 'Lava Dead Beat'

It's quite a decent rock/metal take on the lava theme, although the genre isn't my usual choice to listen to.

This is another mix with an 'accompaniment' melody or two... I hear a distinctly Arctic Abyss tune at around 3:13. Fits in the mix pretty well. Again, I think I'll get in touch with djpretzel to let him know about the multiplicity of source tunes.

Feel free to share your thoughts on this mix, as always.

Lava Dead Beat is on OC Remix now?

And yeah, there's a little bit of In a Snowbound Land in there. Maybe you should send a notification to djpretzel about this one, too.

Scaredism cleaned it up nice! ;)

Mmm...

I don't own fancy composer programs neither a keyboard(piano) to plug to my PC... so I used Anvil Studio and did this "remix" (in quotations) a while ago. It's midi so it may not sound like it should, depending in your sound card; but if you have Windows, then it'll sound the way it should =P

It's also extremely short, boring(lol), and maybe gay  well it's supposed to sound "christmasy", and I liked how the piano sounded so high-pitched.

I should note, it's my first time using a music arranger. I know how to play the flute so that kind of helped XD

There's another DKC3 remix on OCR!

'Claustrophobia'

It's a Cavern Caprice remix. 2:58 is the best part.

I always thought Cavern Caprice already sounded "techno-ish", because of the instruments used and the tune. Another Soundscape did an excellent job =D

By the way, I "tried" turning my song a "real remix" with FL Studio (thanks to a friend), and... I think it worked...

I don't remember which one, but there's a Sytrus preset in FLStudio and if you change just one or two things, it will sound exactly like the first instrument in Stickerbush Symphony.

A new DKC remix just added yesterday. A Fear Factory remix with female vocals, now there's something you don't hear everyday. ;)

http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01806/

It's "Permutation" by Injury and Nicole Adams. You won't hear anything from Fear Factory (except the vocals) until the middle part.

I'm really enjoying this new vocal remix, as you could surely tell from my news report. It's really quite impressive, and just plain good sounding... so polished, relaxed and easy on the ears. Lots of talent out there being poured into DKC homages, eh?

With a snappy video clip, I'd say Permutation could probably make it into popular music charts.

Such the awesome. 8-)

I tried including the clank clank bit, not sure if I like how it sounds or not.

EDIT: Actually I'm thinking I should make my own DKC2 remix project thing... is that worth a new thread Qyzbud?

Wow, you did an amazing remix that lifts me up after hearing that other remix in the OCRemix project. Yours is very true to the original song, and I really like the guitar. The clanking could use some work (it's my favorite part of the original song) but I haven't even tried remixing. Besides, it made me focus on the catchy melody. The remix at the end fits very well with the song. Awesome job. :D

Thanks guys! =D I'm asking at OC for advice on fixing the clanking, and anything else that needs fixing. =)
And I've found some new and very awesome remixes too:
Stickerbrush Symphony
In a Snow-Bound Land (This one is REALLY REALLY AWESOME!)
Forest Interlude
Hot Head Bop

Another remix of Stickerbrush Symphony
DKC Piano Medley
DKC2 Piano Medley
Treetop Tumble
Forest Interlude
Fear Factory

Life in the Shaft Lane
I redid my Mining Melancholy ReMix, so now it's heaps better and 5 minutes long. And now it's more of a Mining Melancholy/Life in the Mines/Donkey Kong Rescued ReMix.

You made that one quickly. And you uploaded it about an hour after me checking if you'd uploaded anything new.
It would've been cool if you found a way to include Mine Cart Madness, but I personally can't see that working. :P
EDIT: Ah, I just found an Interview with David Wise on OCRemix: http://www.ocremix.org/info/Composer_In ... David_Wise
His favourite VG Soundtrack (that he's worked on) is the DKC2 one. Doesn't surprise me, it's my favourite soundtrack ever. :D

Also, Qyz, could you please increase the amount of smilies allowed? It's really annoying only being able to use three. [Insert angry face emoticon here]

Hey, I had an idea.
Since there's quite a few of us remixers here on the DKC Atlas, what if we did a collab remix project together!I'd be willing to coordinate it if no-one objects. Good or bad idea?
If anyone thinks it could work then I could start sending out PMs and making a thread later. :)

I think I should probably start the PM sending now. If enough people are interested I'll start the thread for it.
by the way it will be for the original DKC.

Finally heard from OverClocked!
http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=25315
It got rejected (understandably) 'cos of the production and repetition. But that's OK because it means I can now submit the much better Life in the Mines arrangement I'm doing for the Atlas remix project. :D

Ugh, those OC-Remix guys are too high-strung.

I personally thought LitSL was amazing, and you did a great job.

There is always room for improvement, though, but you probably know that already.

I definitely thought the piece was OCRemix worthy...eh..shame on them.

New DKC OCRemix: 'Dolphin Ride' by Monkey Kong, it's a soft rock remix of Aquatic Ambiance.

I made these two DKC rock covers a while back. I call them covers because they follow the original pretty faithfully.

DKC 2 - Fade to Red

DKC 3 GBA - Waterfall

I hope you like them!
