If DKC was on the Genesis

I know I'm going to be the oddball out here, but I always wondered what the DKC series would have looked like on the Genesis/Megadrive. I know that the Genesis has a poor color palette, so how well could the game look on the Genesis?
Well to answer my own question I made a few mock up screens and sprites of what it could have looked like on the Genny I figured I would share them with you. Oh one more thing the black line means that the sprites would have likely shared the same 16 color palette if it were on the Genesis.

curious post!

Genesis/Megadrive had good games like Sonic, but was worse than SNES.

Ah, if you want to see DKC graphics in Genesis/Megadrive, there are a chinese pirated game called Super Donkey Kong 99 for Genesis/megadrive. That game used SNES graphics. You take control of DK and must rescue Diddy, moving in DKC and DKC3 scenarios(the enemies are for the 3 games...you can kill krooks, bazukas, krunchas, kritters, gnawtys, etc) . Is good to know that game as a curiosity, but is a garbage with some glitchs like be killed after jump in the final boss head.(but DK rumble is even worse)

Well, here you have a vid:

Yeah, I downloaded that. Super Donkey Kong 99 looked like snes graphics, if you JUST look at screenshots. The movement was funky. And I never actually beat it... it was very glitchy.

@Phyreburnz and Goe Good point however that game seemed to use whatever sprites would look best on the Genesis and not what DKC's would actually look like on the Genesis if I'm making sense to you guys the sound seems to be from a Mario game and plays over and over come on the Genesis is no Snes, but it can make DKC sounding music I mean look at this remix. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_90W_0cOfQ As for the color quality it would sadly look a bit worse then Super DK99 if the games were ported mainly due to much more variety of colors the baddies and backgrounds would use.

You're right, aspersion, it uses the Bonus Theme from Super Mario All-Stars.

I think a direct prt would look awful, but with some tweaking, DKC wouldn't end up looking all that bad. I mean, it wouldn't be SNES quality, but it could be okay.

@ Captain Eddie to be honest the game would look at least pretty good if it were ported to the 32X over the Genesis as it would be able to have about the same color depth as a Snes which is much better then the core systems 64 colors on screen and better screen resolution to boot DKC on the 32x would rule.

Here is my version of Diddy and Dixie Kong. I did some clever color substituting such as changing Dixie's eye's from green to grey and using dark red for dark pink.

DKC on the Sega Genesis eh, well i really don't like Super Donkey Kong 99, its a bad pirated game in my opinion, it doesn't even have rolling, ah well, its the best we will get at this time and date, but anyways, if there was a true DKC on Genesis, i would like it, the 1st has enough buttons to fit on a standard 3 button Sega Genesis controller, A = Roll, run, etc., B = Jump, etc., C = Swap DK/Did, Jump of animal friend, etc., Start = Pause, A+B+C = Exit level if completed at the pause screen, perfect fit, but i don't think Sega would of allowed Rare to put Donkey Kong Country on Sega Genesis, and now days Sega Genesis is not being made anymore, Rare is owned by Microsoft, and i think Microsoft is only good at software, not hardware, but that was off the topic, DKC on genesis would make DKC have blast processing, lol, by the way, nice concept images.
