Half-Life 2

Half-Life 2

Postby cfh » February 25th, 2008, 3:26 am

I've had this game for a while... but I've only really started to enjoy it since I got my new computer!

Does anyone else have this game? Maybe we can set up a Deathmatch server! Also, share any maps you made with the Hammer Editor... I'll share mine if I make a good one!

I don't own it, but everyone loves it so much I ought to. Maybe I'll get the Orange Box.

At least you've heard of it. I've asking people on AIM and they don't even know what it is!

Number 2 is the best for multiplayer. The third one focuses much more on the story mode and has less multiplayer levels/modes. There going to make a fourth one soon, and it's gonna rock. Their going to make it more about the multiplayer, and it'll probably be Wii exclusive. Hope to see something about it at E3.

There is no "Half-Life 3". HL2's story is continued in expansion packs called Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2 Episode 2, and so on.

I was talking about Timesplitter's in response to your comment about wanting to try the series, though I now see how you could've confused what I said to be about Half Life.

Just beat this game today... major cliffhanger!!

I hope to get the Orange Box tomorrow so I can play Ep1 and 2. :)
Spoiler!
The whole Citadel area has to be the coolest place in the whole game. Filled with epic win. It was around the time when the resistance was taking down the Striders that I realized the Combine are in fact bio-mechanical, and then in the Citadel you get to actually see how the Combine are created, and even some half-finished one, creepy mixtures of man and machine, driven crazy by their torture. The whole building was so huge and just damn cool looking.

And Blue Gravity Gun FTW

I got the Orange Box.

I don't care what reviewers say, Episode 1 kicks ass.

Oh, and now I have 2 copies of the original Half-Life 2. Anyone want it? I can send it to your Steam account.

EDIT: I beat Episode 1 already! Way too short :|

I borrowed the Orange Box from a mate. It's really worth giving it a go.
Half-Life 2 has one of the best FPS experiences around, in my opinion.
However, it starts off fairly slow as i hated that hovercraft vehicle thing. Was terrible!
Otherwise awesome game.

That's the beauty of the xbox version as you have achievments to get as well. One of them is complete episode one with only shooting one bullet (it makes it seem much longer ;) ). Another good one was little rocket man. In episode two, at the start of the episode, you will find a garden gnome in the radio shack. To get the achievment you have to carry the gnome through the entire episode and put it in a rocket at the end, launching him into space (lucky guy).

Oh, by the way, portal was awesome. Who wouldn't want to be a cake!?

I borrowed Orange Box off a mate for Xbox.
I will consider buying when Ep. 3 comes out.

I loved the achievements on 360, got the use one bullet in Ep. 1 and almost little rocket man in Ep. 2 (lost it when driving the car to the final base :( )
