Forum BBCodes added: [IGN] and [Viddler] for video embedding
Posted: October 13th, 2013, 8:58 pmDue to the excitement of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's upcoming release, I've added a few new BBCodes to allow us to embed promotional/gameplay videos in posts:
Just wrap an IGN video's URL in [IGN] tags like so:
(the whole URL, not just the unique characters at/near the end)
[IGN]http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/10/08/donkey-kong-country-tropical-freeze-dixie-kong-trailer[/IGN]
...and it will become:
Viddler is a video service used by sites such as Joystiq.
Just wrap a Viddler video ID in [Viddler] tags like so:
(not the whole URL, just the unique characters at/near the end)
[Viddler]c82358fd[/Viddler]
...and it will become:
Hopefully these options will help us share breaking news of Tropical Freeze more conveniently.
Are there any other video services that you think we should support?
Note: I know these methods are a little inconsistent (full URL vs. video ID), so I will try to organise a simple system that will work for each of the popular video services.
