K.Rool's intelligence

Postby BigDonkey101 » April 26th, 2009, 6:59 pm

In DKC3 K.Rool seemed to be quite intellect, and good at building weapons like Kaos.
He was also smart in capturing DK and Diddy to use as living batteries to power Kaos.
And he sealed away the Queen of the Banana Birds, and he got away with this without anyone noticing.

Yet in DK64 K.Rool did not seem as smart.
He did not build his Blast-O-Matic weapon, which seemed to be very poorer made and looked very unsafe.

So how did he go from the smart mastermind of DKC3 to someone who's plan relied on very dangerous weapon?

Well, he was still smart...

It's possible that he was just furious at the kongs for doing things like defeating him in a battle to destroying his homeland.

K. Rool's a genius, but his underlings are not. Thanks to his useless minions at the wheel, K. Rool's island stronghold grounded itself on DK Island's shore before his Blast-O-Matic was even ready. And he hadn't counted on his technicians sleeping on the job either. The Kongs stormed in before it was finished, so he gave the order to fire in a last-ditch effort. The cannon certainly seems to work fine in the Game Over sequence, where it's presumably been completed.

One thing to remember though is that we don't actually get to see the Blast-O-Matic blast Donkey Kong Island in the Game Over screen, we only see it pointed at the island.
So for all we know it still might have not worked.

Except that defies the entire point of the Game Over sequence.

Maybe he was just crazy in DK64.

My theory; K. Rool wasn't so crazy at first. A certain amount of time before the games was when he went bonkers. After getting defeated so many times and losing his freaking island, he grew more and more insane - reaching its peak in DK64. After this, he easened up a bit... though he's still bitter.

I agree with August on this K. Rool's vice was laziness, delegating
the development over to incompetent underlings. Which admittedly is incompetent in his own right, but I would imagine if he had overseen
the project himself it would of gone a lot smoother.

Is the blunderbuss his invention? Never really questioned it's origin. Being a pirate you could just as easily assume he pilfered the thing. It actually is pretty
high tech when you think about it. Could be his own gadget.

I think k.rool was just trying to get rid of every kong trace in DK64.

He should have gotten better underlings and realize that his "thing" was going wrong and the kongs were not being stopped by it.
