Really fun, SSE not as much, but still fun

I'm amazed by the polish and shear amount of features.

You can actually import the game and buy a special device to let your PAL system play the game - all for under $100 AUS since the US Dollar is in such a slump at the moment...

I don't really know why I haven't gone out and bought it myself yet, though... for some reason I'm not really as excited as I should be for the game. I felt the exact same about Mario Galaxy last year, too. :/

Super Mario Galaxy didn't have DK and Diddy in it, though, so you can be forgiven for lacking excitement. Brawl on the otherhand... Well I must say I'm quite looking forward to it, even though I probably won't play a whole lot of it (no matter how much I like modern games, they just don't grab my attention like the old-skool classics). I would possibly do the import thing... If I had a Wii of my own. Currently I just use my brother's whenever he lends it to me.

I just stopped playing Brawl for the first time in three and a half hours. The game freaking OWNS.

In the Subspace Emissary, DK sacrifices his life for Diddy and gets turned into a trophy by Bowser. Diddy kills the royal bastard eventually though, so don't worry...

I miss DK. :cry:

And the coin launcher is a way to get trophies and (I think...) stickers.

I got an Engarde sticker, but it runned away :cry:

I seriously did get an Engarde sticker, but I didn't see it last I looked. I saw a Funky trophy in Coin mode, but I didn't hit it enough to get it. :cry:

Maybe it disappeared from the list when I pasted it in my album.

It was a bit of a disappointment. The story was almost completely random, like some 8-year-old kids came up with it in a day. There was no notable "character development" and the only real choice you had in the entire thing was which princess to save in the beginning, and that doesn't even change anything. Master Hand was there... but only in cut scenes! You should have at least fought him once before you see he's being controlled by Tabuu. And Sonic... so much potential, and he just pops up at last minute. The story was so crap, why couldn't they just squeeze him in somehow?

That being said, the actually gameplay is very fun and the cutscenes are entertaining. It has one of the best last levels ever.. almost like a game withing a game within a game. It's like a more simple and easy Metroid, with a map and several people you have to find and beat.

And the ending was amazing, the way it connected to the intro.

Out of curiosity while waiting for K. Rool news to show up, are the descriptions of the DK trophies any different from the fan-translated descriptions or is it basically the same?

Bit unfortunate to hear about SSE's story, but I was expecting something like that.

I'll have to go back and check, but from what I remember, here's what Engarde says:

Engarde is the loyal companion of the Kongs, appearing only in water levels. His big cute eyes can make him look harmless, but his sharp bill serves as a powerful weapon.

I beat SSE. My opinion was a bit different than that of CFH.

I thought that it was the perfect balance of challenge and simplicity. There were a few really epic sequences that were so cool I thought that it was going to be the ending, only to keep going on. Sonic and Snake were a bit of a dissapointment, but the DK and Diddy level was epic enough to make up for that. I love how all the heros(and eventually villains) all united for one cause, and how the Ancient Minister(ROB) turned good near the end. Plus the part when Tabuu turns your 20+ man team into trophies all at once was pure awesome.

I thought how all the bad guys being controlled in some way becoming good by the end to fight the main bad guy was painfully obvious. The whole plot is extremely cliche.

Well, yeah, but what more did you expect? It's amazing that they added to the story mode so much anyway, the story mode itself could be acceptable as it's own game, and then the fact that they at least tried to make a sensible story behind the story mode is way more than I would have expected them to do.

Oh, and I so far have everyone unlocked except Jigglypuff and Wolf. Jigglypuff is really hard, and hardly worth it, and I can't even find Wolf.

You guys gotta be kidding me. The Subspace Emissary is pure awesome! I love it! IT'Z SO COOL!!!!!

Oh my god. R.O.B. is awesome. I like when Ganondorf orders the R.O.B.s to kill the Ancient Minister, and he's just sitting there on fire and then you get to be him. And Tabuu turns everyone into trophies. I kicked his ass. And I the only Donkey Kong trophies I don't have are Candy Kong, Cranky, Wrinkly, Dixie, Lanky, and King K. Rool. Darnit!

Simion and I just played almost a full hour of online... No lag, no disconnections. Seriously, the online is great. I just wish you could play on a Stage Builder stage.

I might be importing the game along with the freeloader sometime soon... but until then, I'm playing melee day in and day out... even though it isn't quite the same. Eh... wished Brawl was a little more like melee in terms of the game engine now, but ah well.

Um, does anyone know if SHFFLing is still in the game? Or has it been reduced to SHFF'ing...

Yay I have the Brawl woohoo been waiting for this like so many others since I bought the wii, is pretty awesome but damn that 100 man brawl is hard I keep getting down to 6 enemies and then get hit by some item and well 338% damage makes it hard to come back from.

Well I finally got a hands-on Brawl experience... it was great fun, but it felt pretty much just like melee with a generous handful of extras sprinkled on top.

I love playing as Diddy, though... He's such the awesome.
