Trust me, you don't want to. It was crap. It also hurts your eyes. I would like Mewtwo back in Smash 4. Screw Lucario.

I would definately want that, as I've never really had a chance to play the VB.

Mr. Virtual Boy? That would be AMAZING.

I imagine something like game and watch, with the virtual boy peripheral as a head.

And his F-S would shift the background into all of his red/black pixelated glory. And also slow down things, and a couple other cool ideas.

I honestly don't see how this would work.

I honestly don't see how it wouldn't work. It worked in Pac-Man World Rally didn't it? And a retro Pac-Man SSB stage would be even better than a racetrack.

Maybe they could even work the Split Screen Glitch into it. :)

I've got to agree with Kiddy, Jo, I think you're over-reacting just a bit, and I think Angry Sun, you might need to just chillax a bit too.

ANYWAY!

Geno for SSB4 and all that jazz.

K. Rool for SSB4
Banjo & Kazooie for SSB4 DAMMIT!
Isaac for SSB4

Mr. Virtual Boy for SSB4
Mr. X for SSB4 (Yes, him)

Goroh for SSB4
Mewtwo for SSB4 (Keep Lucario too, he's my new main, and I'm loving him)

Klumps and Zingers for ATs! (Klumps toss exploding oranges, Zingers drop exploding fruit, ala DK64, but Zingers are in the air, so it's like, a team attack!)

Louie for AT! (He should throw whatever new Pikmin are introduced in Pikmin 3, assuming Olimar doesn't get them added to his squad)

STAGE IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DK Isle Kruise : A DK64-esque stage, first stage being a showdown on a flat sandy beach. Then the stage morphs, and the players are on top of trees, on opposite sides of the map, and there's a vine suspended between them, that the players use to get between the tree-tops.

Naturally, the original Jungle Japes music plays here.

The stage then shifts to Angry Aztec. The players stand atop a large stone platform. On either side of this platform is quicksand, which damages and after standing in it for 2 seconds, the players begin to sink.

Frantic Factory transition : This one doesn't last long, but the platform is now a conveyor belt. Players fight, but need to try and stay on the platform (There are small edges they can grab on to, don't worry)

Gloomy Galleon transition : They stand atop the Gangplank Galleon (I KNOW that was the ship that pulled into the harbor...) It's a regulation-size ship stage, with water surrounding the players, and it's dark, and the lighthouse is moving in the background. Nothing unusual happens, really.

Fungi Forest transition : The large clock sits in the middle, hands spinning slowly, and two mushrooms are on either side of the clock tower. They are kinda bouncy, like the upper platform on Distant Planet. A switch occasionally appears on the tower, and anyone who hits it changes the scenery and time in the backround (Night to Day, vice versa, you know how it goes)

Crystal Caves transition : Players stand in an open space, with no hazards or ledges, with crystals on the ground around them. Every now and then, however, the hazard music will play, and the stalactites will fall from the ceiling, and must be dodged.

Creepy Castle : Guess WHAT? No hazards here!!! Players end up in the crypt, with the glowing green stuff, and the moaning voices, but it's all on a platform, with ledges, and the moaning voices are in the background. Sounds fun, eh? Nostalgia Trip!

Hideout Helm: Yep. This will be included! The players stand inside Hideout Helm (Or rather, on an elevated platform, face to face with the blast-o-matic.)

After 15 seconds of fighting, the timer on the blast-o-matic (Which starts 5 seconds after the transition) will finish, and blast the stage from the background, and players need to dodge this. The transition back to the sandy beach immediately occurs after this.

Sounds FUN eh? I'd sell my Wii to get a Smash game with this stage (And K. Rool) in it, it'd just be too great to play on I think! :)

That's all the music that ought to play on that stage, in my opinion (Oh, and each transition (other than Hideout Helm) should take about 30 seconds to a minute)

Good idea, though I don't understand a lot of it because I never bought DK64.

Here's an idea I thought of:
It's Gangplank Galleon, and it's a mostly DKC2 stage. You are on the gangplank galleon, with klobbers occasionally popping up(after jumping on them you can throw the barrels), and there are also the masts to stand on. Size wise it would be bigger than the Zelda Pirate ship, probably about as wide as the pikmin stage is (only on the ship). There would be several layers of mast, and the ship would move through several areas:
A swampy are like the one in DKC2, with Flutters (the dragonfly thing) flying by. Then you'd sail through a storm, in which the floor would be too wet to stand on, so you'd retreat to the masts, where you would climb onto the brambles above just as the storm clears. You go through the brambles until you get back to the ship below(seperated from you by the brambles). Once you get back on the ship you would go by a Zinger Bee Hive, with tons of Zingers flying around(and perhaps a surprising return of King Zing!), until you get back to the main sea(with DK Island in the background), and the process repeats all over.

Eh?

Yeah, quality aside, it was one of the top selling N64 games (nearly 4 million copies, specifically). But then I have taken care to notice that this is a pretty youthful board, and most people don't get expensive video game systems when they're young as sin (I was fortunately an exception to that rule, gaming since the crib thank you very much.)

Yeah, gaming since the crib, that's me too, right here.

Quality aside? Come on, that game not only had great graphics for a time, but it was a masterpiece for those who (like me) LOVE massive collection games, and even if you didn't , it was still downright amazing.

Nice stage idea Jomingo, but wouldn't it be better to include the Cauldron as well? The ship does go through there. But yeah, Klobbers would be awesome. 8-) Either way though, I'd love to see a DK stage in SSB that wasn't in a jungle.

Actually, I think that most of us have been "gaming since the crib", it's just that since I had an older brother he chose the console we got(so I played the PSX and missed the entire N64 era). I still played a lot of them(my nephew had one), so I knew what games I liked, it's just not until recently when I've been able to remedy the situation and buy myself an N64. I now have DKR, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario 64, and plan to buy all the others I missed(such as DK64).

Wow, you guys are coming up with brilliant ideas!

1. Playable character Krool and a Gangplank Galleon stage.
2. Playable character Dixie.
3. Playable character Krystal (She's hot! )
4. More cooler alternate costumes like Boshi and Cosmic (Shadow) Mario (things like that.)
5. Songs like Lockjaw's Saga and Bad Boss Boogie.
6. Bowser's Castle from SMB (the one with the axe and bridge).
7. There to actually be a fourth Super Smash Brothers!

Been a while since we had any action in THIS thread!

@Katastrophe, as far as a Bowser's Castle stage goes, I'm right there with you, but if you check out some screen shots of Super Nuke Bros in it's threads, you can see the world 1-4 stage. Its not in the test anymore, but it was a pretty awesome stage, and will be back modt likrly with the finished product.

And I'm sure there will be a new game, given how much money Brawl brought in, people are sure to go right for it, especially Nintendo.

So no worries there.

I thought recently that it would've been great if there was an Airship stage to go with the relevant music. It would've made a terrific moving stage. So yeah, something like that'd be good.
I also think a lot of people (including myself) would appreciate it if they acknowledged the fan community by using some OC Remix tracks in the game.
I also think they need some more interesting skins that aren't just pallette swaps. Dry Bowser would be awesome. :)

Nintendo really should take fan remixes of songs into consideration for the sound track in Smash 4 (if there will be one).

DK's moveset needs to be... repaired... and give him a better Final Smash (or at least a longer one with more range)
I think K. Rool should be an assist trophy at least... but I wouldn't mind if he was playable (or better yet, a boss)
Funky and Dixie should be playable. I already thought of movesets for Dixie Kong

b = ponytail whip (like diddy's tail whip thingie)
left/right b = super ponytail whip (like that move she had in dkc 2 and 3 where she would spin around once and hit the enemy with her ponytail)
down b = ponytail spin (she ducks and spins her ponytail in to a reflective shield that also does damage... like Zelda's regular b move)
up b = the move you've all been waiting for... the helecopter spin. Kind of like a cross between Peach's umbrella move (when she floats down and does damage at the same time) and Link's spinning sword move ( when she's on the ground and spins). It's both an aerial move and a ground move
all the 'a' moves would just be standard punches and kicks and stuff

I want Geno to be playable, or at least an assist trophy...
Mr X should be a secret character or a boss... (not likely, unfortunately)
Also, Daisy should be playable instead of being a recolor. That probably won't happen any time soon, because Nintendo refuses to let her star in a video game THAT ISN'T A MARIO SPORTS TITLE!!!
Make Tails, Megaman, and Knuckles playable...don't know about Shadow, though, even though I've heard some pretty good moveset ideas from people, but I'll list them another time...

Stage Idea # 1: Lost World stage.

Think about it, after you unlock everything there is to unlock (or at least everything DK related), you get a secret stage modeled after DKC 2's Lost World. You'd fight on a moving platform, and would fly over various parts of the Lost World's overworld map, eventually ending up in scaled down versions of a few of the level archetypes. Then the Krem head volcano thing would open up and you'd end up in the area where you fought Kaptain K.Rool. All while the original over world music plays in the background. Maybe some whether effects could be added, like in the Pikmin stage.

For examples of how this would work, look at the Final Destination Stage, or the Mario Sunshine Stage (the latter conveys my idea better).

Stage Idea #2: Haunted Hall (And I wish to God that this was in Subspace Emissary)

You're fighting on a big moving platform (Skull Mine Kart?), which is moving quite fast, while jumping to hit the barrels that keep you going. Green = Good, Red = Bad... oh, and Kackles follows dangerously close behind you, but sometimes moves to the front and tries to knock you off. If he hits you, it kind of has a wild card effect: you either take 25- 50% damage, or you're instantly ko'd (However, Kongs take 75 damage). Music for this stage? A brand new orchastrated version of the original stage music.

Example of how this would work: Ridley stage... but on a slightly different scale...

Re: Smash Bros. 4: What do you want/expect?

PostPosted: August 21st, 2009, 11:10 am
by Jomingo
1: Fan remixes aren't going to happen, but one possibility would be to allow the player to upload their own music files. That way the user can listen to whatever they want on custom stages.

2: I agree about DK's moveset. I like the majority of it, but his Final Smash definitely needs to be upgraded.

3: K. Rool should definitely be playable and if he's only an AT or a boss I will be infinitely upset. K. Rool deserves it more than any of the Earthboud/Fire Emblem/3rd Party characters.

4: Funky will never be playable in a Smash bros. game, and if you think Dixie will be in your mistaken again. Dixie might make it into Smash 5, but to think they'd add Dixie and K. Rool into the next one is just wishful thinking, especially considering it took 3 games to get Diddy in.

5: I like your Dixie moveset, but it just seems a little bland. I mean, I know we don't have all the DK64 content like we do for Diddy, but can't we think of any thing more unique than a bunch of variations on the hair spin?

6: I don't really know much about Geno, so no comment. But Mr. X will NOT be playable. That's pretty much one of the more ridiculous suggestions I can possibly think of.

7: Daisy shouldn't be playable, because she's not important or unique. Also, too many 3rd parties. The day Sonic has more characters than Metroid or F-Zero is the day I lose faith in the world.

8: I like the Lost World idea, but it's not likely seeing as not many people ever actually make it to the Lost World. I mean, it's the most secret and hard to reach world from a single game appearing almost 15 years ago, not exactly the most popular destination. I think the Gangplank Galleon is a much more likely choice, seeing as it was the location of K. Rool's final battle and the entire first world of DKC2. K. Rool is remembered for his pirate ship.

Now, some of my thoughts. I went to my brothers for a week and while there we bought SSBB for his Wii, so I had the opportunity to play it again, so I'm in the mood to talk about this. Basically, I would add K. Rool, Ridley, Krystal, Lil' Mac, and Starfy, and care very little about any one else they throw in. Just as long as the keep the nonsense characters to a minimum (I'm looking at you Snake!).

We need to get K. Rool, Ridley, and Samurai Goroh, no questions asked. Also if they add more Sonic or Metal Gear characters I will be pissed to the nth degree.

I'm going to assume we get between 15 and 20 characters and drop three or four. I'm organizing it by franchise.

Mario:
Mario (stays same)
Bowser (stays same)
Peach (stays same)
Luigi (Polterguist to go with mario's FLUDD)
Dr. Mario (stays out)
Bowser Jr. (new character) - The problem here is that there really is no other important Mario character. I'm sorry, but Geno was only in one game, horrible representation of the franchise.

Zelda:
Link (stays same)
Zelda (stays same)
Sheik (stays same)
Ganondorf (stays same)
Young Link (stays out)
Toon Link (kicked out)
Tingle (new character) - a very popular Zelda character that has two games. I know some people hate him.

Kirby:
Kirby (stays same)
Meta Knight (stays same)
King Dedede (stays same)

Pokemon:
Pikachu (stays same)
Jigglypuff (stays same)
Pichu (stays out)
Mewtwo (back in) - An important Pokemon character
Lucario (kicked out) - Replaced with 5th gen Pokemon
Pokemon Trainer (stays same)
5th Gen Pokemon (new character) - To replace the "current gen Pokemon from Brawl (Lucario)

Star Fox:
Fox (stays same)
Falco (Arwing Final Smash)
Wold (Star Wolf Final Smash)
Krystal (new character) - Uses staff for an original move set, Dinasaur planet-like Final Smash

Metroid:
Samus (stays same)
Zero Suit Samus (stays same)
Ridley (new character)

Donkey Kong:
Donkey Kong (New, Animal Buddies Final Smash)
Diddy Kong (stays same)
King K. Rool (new character)
Dixie Kong (new character)

Yoshi:
Yoshi (stays same)
Kamek (new character)

Wario:
Wario (stays same)
Captain Syrup (new character)

Fire Emblem:
Marth (English voices) - To accommodate his recent debut in America on the DS
Ike (stays same)

Earthbound:
Ness (stays same)
Lucas (slightly reworked move-set) - more originality

Pikmin:
Captain Olimar (stays same)

F-Zero:
Captain Flacon (stays same)
Samurai Goroh (new character)

Sonic:
Sonic (stays same)

Metal Gear:
Snake (stays same)

(the following two are assuming they continue with 3rd parties, which unfortunately I don't see how they can get themselves out of it at this point)

Mega Man:
Mega Man (new character) - will represent original NES games

Pac-man:
Pac-man (new character)

Ice Climbers:
Ice Climbers (stays same)

Kid Icarus:
Pit (stays same)

R.O.B.:
R.O.B. (stays same)

Game & Watch:
Mr. game & Watch (stays same)

Punch-Out!!:
Little Mac (new character)

The Legend of Starfy:
Starfy (new character)

Wii Series:
Mii (new character)

I also had this idea for alternate costumes that I won't get into right now.

I agree with you on most of it. I see a 5x10 character set, with a random slot. That's 49 characters.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr.
DK, Diddy, K. Rool (I doubt we'll see Dixie), Yoshi and Wario (I don't see either of them getting a new character)
Link, Zelda+Sheik, Ganondorf, Tingle, and another character (if there's 5 to a column I think they'll fill it, but I don't know who it'll be. I'm sure that with 2 new Zelda's in development we'll have another character by then).
Samus+Zss, Ridley, Pit, Ice Climbers, Balloon Fighter.
Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Captain Falcon, Goroh.
Fox, Falco, Krystal, Wolf, olimar.
Pikachu, Pkmn Trainer, Rival, 5th gen or Mewtwo, Jigglypuff.
Marth, Ike, Ness, Lucas, Another Fire Emblem or Earthbound character.
Rob, Mr. Game and Watch, Mr. Virtual Boy, Lil' Mac, chi-bi Robo.
Pacman, Megaman, Snake, Sonic, random.

...Or something like that.

I don't want that exact list, ask me again in a week on the spot and I'd give you a different list. Basically I want K. Rool, RIdley, Samurai Goroh, Bowser Jr. (or no one, just not Geno), Tingle, Little Mac, and after that I couldn't care less. Balloon Fighter would be a fine choice for the secret retro character (like ROB and Game & Watch). I doubt we'll see Dixie either, but hey, we got close this time and it is definitely deserved. As for Zelda, wasn't there a weird blue maiden on the only artwork piece we have from Zelda Wii? She could probably be the fifth Zelda character. Krystal is cool for her unique possibilities with the staff, but four Star Fox characters is hardly balanced. A third Fire Emblem character would be good, but I have no idea about the franchise, Lyn? For Pokemon we need something from 5th gen, or at the least not everything from 1st. Chi-bi Robo would work good like Olimar. Also if they add more third party, Pac-man or Mega Man seem ideal. I would love to see Miis (playing as Obama has me giddy).

And I almost forgot, I know the series doesn't lend itself well to this game, but an Animal Crossing character seems like a good idea, Tom Nook, or maybe just Animal Crosser.

EDIT:Kick out Toon Link, Lucario, and Wolf (if they're adding Krystal that is).

Also, Earthbound does NOT need a third character, I love the series, but this thing needs to be balanced.

I said Balloon fighter because for melee they said they had to choose between Ice Climber, Pit, and Balloon fighter, and they went with Ice Climbers. Then Pit showed up in Brawl, so I just figured Balloon fighter would show up.

As for Pokemon, I was thinking Lugia or Ho-oh could be good for a few reasons. They are remaking Gold and Silver for DS, so those games will be fresh on everyone's minds, especially considering the G/S games were the pinnacle of the series. Ho-oh was the first legendary pokemon ever seen in the show, and was the star of Pokemon Gold. Lugia was the star of Silver, and the star of the second Pokemon movie. So they are both popular, and would easily fill up a moveset. They won't be too awkward to play as, if they can make Ridley work then they can make one of these two work.

The Weird blue maiden looks like the design on Link's sword, and since Link isn't holding a sword in that artwork I figure it will have a big part of the gameplay/story.

And hey, I know 4 Starfox characters isn't balanced, but neither is 5 Mario/Zelda/Pokemon. It could work if they made the ones already included more diverse. But I definitely wouldn't be heart broken to see Wolf get cut, Krystal should've been in his spot in the first place.

And I agree about Earthbound. They don't even make those games anymore, do they? Besides, they are mostly only in Japan, so they don't need 3.

I really don't think Ridley or the Legendary birds should be playable due to their size. Lugia and Ho-Oh could work well as bosses or in a Spear Pillar-like stage though.
Since HGSS is comign out soon, it's also be cool (and kinda likely) if they replaced the Pokemon Trainer with the HGSS Character. Although personal preferences make me wish it could be the rival...

Metroid needs more characters certainly, but Ridley wouldn't be optimal I think. Perhaps one of the other hunters from the prime series?

K. Rool

Oh god yes.
Tingle

Oh god no.
Bowser Jr.

More Mario characters?

Megaman would be good, he's certainly had enough games on Nintendo systems.

I don't think we really need Ness AND Lucas. I also think they need their movesets altered massively so that they're more true to the games. If they really want PK Thunder and PK fire in the game they should throw in Paula, who actually uses those attacks in Earthbound.

Snake needs to go, he simply doesn't fit.

Can't think of anything else for now...

I agree with most of what you said. I guess the legendary birds would fit better as a boss, but I think that Ridley could work. I mean, Bowser is huge in some games, but they rescale him whenever they need to for him to fit.
It would be cool to have the Johto Pokemon Trainer, but I think that the Kanto one is much more iconic. Perhaps the Johto Rival could be in there?

And the only reason I said Bowser Jr. and Tingle is because you know they are gonna add another to each franchise, so I just guessed at what they are. Plus, Tingle does have a couple games under his belt. He's practically the Yoshi of the LoZ franchise.

I also agree about the Earthbound characters and Snake.

Bowser's grown, if anything.
In fact... I never realised he used to be the same size as mario.
But in any case, if the shrunk Ridley to fit, it would be... well, degrading really. In metroid he can hold Samus in one hand. He'd lose his visage if he was no taller than Charizard. Especially compared to his appearance in Brawl.
Seriosuly, just imagine him going...

You see, Ridley in Smash bros would ruin him in my opinion. If this doesn't convince you then I don't know what will.

K. Rool should definitely be playable and if he's only an AT or a boss I will be infinitely upset. K. Rool deserves it more than any of the Earthboud/Fire Emblem/3rd Party characters.

It really would be cool if he was playable, but I just can't think of any movesets for him (crown throwing? body slamming perhaps?). With all due respect, I just see him as more of a boss character (than again, maybe I'm just not seeing the big picture).

Funky will never be playable in a Smash bros. game, and if you think Dixie will be in your mistaken again

I can dream can't I :D Anyway, I think Dixie is more plausible than Funky, but I was just saying it would be cool. Yeah, maybe in Smash 5... but the likelihood of even a Smash for is pretty slim... for the timebeing at least

I like your Dixie moveset, but it just seems a little bland.

Thank you. Yes, I know it's a bit bland, but it's the best I could come up with, considering Nintendo doesn't give her nearly as much attention as she deserves.

But Mr. X will NOT be playable. That's pretty much one of the more ridiculous suggestions I can possibly think of.

I previously stated that it was unlikely. Hey, I know there's absolutely no way in heck that he could be playable, I was just saying it would be cool that's all. It's like an Arich vs. Squitter boss battle: awesome... but VERY unlikely. Please don't call my suggestions ridiculous. There are better ways to state that you disagree with something.

Daisy shouldn't be playable, because she's not important or unique. Also, too many 3rd parties. The day Sonic has more characters than Metroid or F-Zero is the day I lose faith in the world.

I acknowledged that Daisy probably would never happen anyway. She could be important and unique, but Nintendo restricts her to very minor roles in sports titles.

I'm just thankful they let Sonic in at all, even if it was last minute. But I'm going to stand by my character suggestions However, if anything, they should only let Knuckles and Tails be new additions from Sonic games (too add Shadow would be a little much). They could come up with some good moves for them if they wanted to.

More characters from Metroid? Like who? Really, I'd love to hear your suggestions. :)
Spoiler!
As illustrated in Gnawzooka's post, Ridley just isn't possible as a playable character. I was going to comment on that in my last post, but my computer was being wonkey

Can't really comment on F- Zero series, as I have little knowledge of the characters from that series.

I was thinking of the Hunters from the Prime series. I don't really know that much about them, but Sylux, Trace, Noxus, Weavel, Spire and Kanden are hunters who appear as trophies in SSBB. Someone who has played them would knw more though.

Look, they can scale Ridley down while still making him bad ass. He's just so much cooler than anything else I can come up with for Metroid. I mean, sure they could do a Hunter, or maybe even a plain Metroid, but Ridley is too cool. They could make Ridley about 180 percent the size of Samus and still fit. Sure, that's not as big as he was originally, but that is still pretty intimidating.

As for F-Zero, the most likely would be Goroh or Black Shadow.

EDIT: Almost forgot about this. In response to JadeRoseofChaos not being able to think of K. Rool's moveset:

K. Rool's possibilities are almost endless. He has such a wide array of tactics and weapons it's ridiculous, way more original than Bowser.

For instance, in DKC he throws his crown like a boomerang, charges, smashes to the ground, and drops giant cannonballs from the sky.
In DKC2, he has the blunderbuss, which shoots spiked cannonballs, barrels, gas that messes up your controls, scoots him across the floor quickly, he turns invisible, he smacks you with his gun, etc.
In DKC3, he has his copter-pack, and he controls chaos, which could be incorporated somehow. Plus, I've never played his final Lost World battle so he probably has more tricks there.
In DK64 he is a boxer. That could be incorporated somehow.
I don't know about KoS, but in JC he shoots fire and Comets out of his mouth.

Other ideas:
The new staff he carries in Mario Super Sluggers could be used. He has all kinds of generic Heavy character punches and flops. He could throw Klaptraps that attach to people.

There is probably so much more that I haven't listed yet.

I think Ridley would be an awesome character, but I must agree that it is unlikely to happen. I don't feel that shrinking him would be a downgrade. In the original Metroid, (NES/virtual console), he is only slightly bigger than Samus. The difference is about the same as that between Mario and Bowser in the picture posted by Gnawzooka. I would, of course, love to see Dixie, K. Rool, and possibly Manky added to the DKC roster. As far as third party characters go, I feel that Pacman, Mega Man, and Crash Bandicoot all have great potential.

Well, I thought they should add Dixie and make Diddy and Dixie kind of like the ice climbers, but let you be able to slap between the two.

They NEED to add K. Rool. He's such an awesome bad guy!

I agree with the Krystal thing, she is one of the most interesting Star Fox characters... and she's badass :D

Along the idea for Funky Kong, I think that one of DK's forms that you choose between should look like Funky (like how Peach can look like Daisy).

Starfox won't get another character unless they get an actual sequel soon. I'm pretty sure that if they do end up making a new game it will probably be a reboot, and Krystal won't be in it. In that case, she probably wouldn't end up playable.

As for DK, we'll probably have another DKCR out before Smash 4 comes out, so maybe K. Rool can have a prominent role in that. Otherwise, I'm not sure if he'll be playable. He is the obvious choice, but it's kinda hard for them to include a Villain that hadn't appeared in a game for years. Dixie also has a chance, but it would an insult to downgrade Diddy at this point. He's got a full moveset and easily holds his own without Dixie's help. I'm not sure if Dixie could do the same.

Other than that (and contrary to some of my previous posts on this subject) I think most of the series will remain unchanged. It's unlikely that Fzero will ever get another character. The only Mario character they would logically incorporate at this point would be Bowser Jr, and though other interesting characters could appear I don't think we'll get more than that. LoZ might get another character, but it all depends on how Skyward Sword pans out. Kirby is pretty well set, and so are Pikmin/Earthbound/Fire Emblem. I don't think we'll see another Kid Icarus character either.
There will be some new series represented, but most of the existing series will go unchanged I think.

I would like to see another game like Star Fox Adventure... WITH Krystal as an actual playable character. I loved Adventure, but then again, I was never into flying games...

They won't put K. Rool in. He's not even going to be in DKCR. I think that Retro is trying to make themselves different from Rare, so they want different baddies... But now that I think about it, Krusha might be the better choice for a character in SSB... Because he was "playable" in DK 64 in the multi-player thing... but then again, maybe it's a bad idea.

As for an insult and downgrade? I don't think that... not if Nintendo did it right; it could be super cool. I don't think that I fully explained myself before, so for that I appologize. It could be kind of like how you can switch between pokemon with the trainer. You could keep ALL of his moves, but just be able to switch between him and Dixie, rather than just making (pretty much) a Diddy clone.

I think that they should bring back some super old characters again. And, although they are not "super old", I would like to see Geno or Mallow from Super Mario RPG. They already have bunches of moves that could be easily translated from one game to another. But for "super old" characters, I would LOVE to see Alfred Chicken! I bet no one has heard of him, but the games are awesome... but I don't know what the hell kind of moves he'd have... all he does in the game is jump, peck, dive, and shoot jelly... and pecking just releases balloons.

Eh, I'd say K. Rool's a given. I don't care if he's gone from DKCR, it's one game: He'll be there. Ha, throw in Dixie for the heck of it and I'll be happy. If Pokemon can have SIX FRICKING CHARACTERS, and Zelda five, I legitimately don't see why not.

Also include classic stages from all previous Smash Bros. games. I was disappointed when Brawl only took stages from Melee.

EDIT: Also, Pac-Man for the win!

If they did add pacman, what would he do? Just eat dots at you?.......... Although... a cool power up could be the big dot and make everyone turn blue and you eat them....... I know, I probably should read more in-depth to the previous posts, but eh...

I think I've posted more detail before, but contrary to popular belief Pacman has been fleshed out a lot throughout his series. He's got his own platformers even. Rolls, body slams, etc. are all part of his arsenal, and the Super Pac Dot would make a logical final smash. He'd be a perfect choice for a third party character, unlike Snake.

As for K. Rool, yeah I don't think DKCR will hurt his chances at all. Dixie is a lot less likely to support a full moveset, and K. Rool makes a lot more sense and is a lot more important to the series overall.

As for returning stages, I would like to see graphical updates to old stages from all three previous smash games. Also, if Nintendo's next console has a basic online infrastructure in place we'll likely get more maps as DLC later, some of which will be old and some new.

I disagree with the less moves than K. Rool thing... They could easily integrate Tiny Kong's moves into Dixie's. Tiny does a lot more moves than K. Rool has done, that's not to say, though, that it would be difficult to make moves for K. Rool.

Personally, I don't want to see too many 3rd party charaters, this is after all, a Nintendo game.

Dixie should have a more involved appearence instead of only being a trophy, perhaps she could be an alternative costume to Diddy with some minor attack changes?
As for K. Rool, that would indeed be epic, although I doubt how much DKC 1, 2, 3 and DK64 references will be used to for his move set and Final Smash. Take King DDD for example, did his FS resemble anything from the Kirby games? I don't really think so =/

Waluigi should also be playable, he's just waaay too underrated (he honestly needs to have his own platform/RPG/adventure game with Wario or something).

Bowser Jr. should be an Assist Trophy (or a mini-boss), Dr. Mario and Shadow Mario should be alternative costumes for Mario, and Ridely should remain being a boss.
Kamek could be either a mini-boss or an Assist Trophy (gives you random powerups alla Yoshi's Island. Or can fly around shooting at players, if magic touches the ground a goomba or koopa will appear, and they will attack nearby players).

And another thing:
NO SCROLLING STAGES PLZ! Along with cheap environmental hazards.

Anyhow, the characters I'd like to see are

Dixie Kong
Kiddy Kong (Not Likely :( )
Lanky Kong (Not Likely :( )
Waluigi
King K. Rool
Mega Man
Pac-Man
Bandana Waddle Dee
Geno (Impossible)

And others...

I've always had a fanscination with Mach Rider.

I think he'd make a great character as a hybrid of Captain Falcon/Solid Snake/ and Wario. He could use some of the hand-to-hand combat moves from Captain Falcon, he could bring out some machine guns like Snake brings out his weapons, and he'd lug out his awesome Mach Bike like Wario does with his chopper.

I've also wanted Urban Champion in the game, but making a unique and not bland moveset for him would be pretty hard.

Can Nintendo please include Lip, the Fairy of Flowers, from Panel de Pon? Sakurai has been testing the waters since Melee with Lip's Stick, and Lip's Theme was even featured in the Pictochat stage in Brawl, along with some stickers based on characters from the franchise. Smash Bros. needs more females in its roster, yes, but it also needs someone to represent Nintendo's puzzle genre. So, why not choose the main character from the most successful puzzle franchise who just so happens to be a woman? While including Dixie and K. Rool would be excellent, my vote's for Lip.

Same here, though I would be concerned about perverts looking under her skirt. (and we all know what happened with Peach in Brawl. )

Nevertheless, I would LOVE to see the princess of Popples as a playable character, or even as an Assist Trophy!
