Attention all DKC Atlasites with any made-up characters. I am very bored, so anyone who has made up there own: Kong, Kremling, Boss, or Animal Buddy, I will do my best to draw them based on your desciptions. Remember, if I start getting too many requests, I will ask everyone to stop until I get caught up.
Jomingo, if you (and other 'Atlasites') like the idea, perhaps you could create caricature avatars for any interested forum-goers here. They could be a Kongification of the member, based on a brief list of attributes (hairstyle/colour, eye colour, height, interests, etc.) or a photo. Might be a nice idea, and a way for each user here to feel more like a part of a community, whilst showing their individual characteristics/interests.
K rool with Karate kimono(Like a new boss) An old kong like Cranky, but martial artist, and with the typical asian beard And a new animal buddy: a beetle who eats kremlings...it would be cool if you draw DK or diddy mounting him
First, my Kongified self, which I did about an hour ago:
Spoiler!
I didn't color this one because I was afraid of ruining it. I have a very limited choice of colors, so I usually color two or three colors over top of eachother to make other colors, but I make mistakes often.Notice the hastily drawn SNES controller in my foot, and the Atlas T-shirt.
Next, Goe's Beetle animal buddy, which I drew right after finishing Jomingo Kong, about 45 minutes ago:
Spoiler!
Again, not colored. This one would have been even harder to color, because I have no idea how to go about replicating the shiny metallic look I have in my head. I imagine it would look like this.
Now I'm going to post a few of my own. First, my redesign of Kiddy Kong:
Spoiler!
Here is an example of me mixing colors due to not having crap for materials, and it's also an example of me making a mistake because of this. To make the skin color of the Kongs, I had to gently color with pink, yellow, and orange. The fur was brown, yellow, and orange. But, I accidentally added brown to the ears, so I added extra yellow to fix it, which is why it looks so messed up.
Here's a redesigned Swanky Kong:
Spoiler!
This time I screwed up on the hands, but I think that was just because of the pencil lead.
Next, my own animal buddy as mentioned in THIS topic:
Spoiler!
Sticky the Gecko.
Here's another one of Sticky, this time with DK on his back:
Spoiler!
This time I made DK's skin way to dark.
Here's a redesign of Manky Kong:
Spoiler!
I wanted to make him look more like an evil doppelganger to DK. Unfortunately, I didn't make him nearly red enough, he doesn't even look like an orangutan.
Well, if you give me some details I'll kongify you next. Important attributes: Glasses or not, usual clothing, personality and hobbies.... The last one is the most important, because it'll basically make up your whole character based on what you like to do etc.
Glasses: Yes. Usual Clothing: T-shirt with a video game character on it, knee-length shorts. Personality: Smart and imaginative, but a tad depressed. Hobbies: Computer. Video games. Pacing the house at random intervals.
So, that's me in a nutshell. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Joe, totally loving that first artwork of Sticky. Captures a fair amount of life and character (nice angle/perspective work, too), plus the jungle background is a great little touch to set the scene. Geckos are a favourite animal of mine, too.
The beetle looks quite nice (does he have a name, Goe?). I agree that iridescence is a very tricky visual aspect to get right, but your greyscale shading looks really good.
Thanks Qyz! The inspiration behind Sticky came from my pet Gecko. I don't have a picture of him, but he looks exactly like this one.
Tiptup JR, I think I have enough information to Kongify you now, I'll try and have it done sometime this weekend, but it's my nephew's birthday tomorrow so I may be busy.
Yeah, sorry. I drew it a couple of times but didn't like how it turned out. I'm a part of my school's Radio station, and we film all the high school sporting events, so I've been busy with that. And then there's Precalculus homework. And my Woodshop project. Not to mention that I'm making a beatles collage on my bedroom wall. So....I guess I've just been really busy...
Yeah, I try to find time to log on to here(and a few other sites) 2 or 3 times a day(though even that is harder to do now). I find time, like when I'm online doing computer homework, or if I'm DJing at the school's radio station.
