I'm trying to create a DKC ROM hack composed solely of mine cart levels. I'm sure most people know of the DKC hacking conundrum where getting hit in a mine cart by most enemies/objects causes the game to glitch up and freeze.

I was wondering if it was possible to either:

a) Change the sprite of the "Krash" enemy while keeping the object's properties (not causing the game to freeze upon hitting your mine cart)

or

b) Create a new object with the same properties of the "Krash" enemy.

Also, I would like to know how to modify the speed of objects' movement, in order to have more variety of enemies/objects.

These questions all relate to a ROM hack that I am trying to create, so any help will allow me to finish up the hack more quickly. Thanks a lot.
