I've posted a thread like this in the General DKC Discussion but I found this place and thought it was a better place for it. From playing around with DK Resource editor and noticed that all of the DKC enemies and objects (except for bosses) are limited to 8 16x16 tiles which is 1kB. The SNES can only DMA about 4kB of sprites between frames. What does it do when there is more than 4 enemies or objects onscreen?
