I had alot of fun fixing him up. I gave him neat little badges and fixed his head (which wasn't that fun since I had to chose between like 4 other differant heads :? ). Here he is!

That klobber DK barrel would be a definite killer.

Are the coloured sprites done with hex editing and then you rip them from the game? Because i could do that.

That gnawty is super insane :D It seems his hit points level is 0. He cant be defeated because he has 0/0 hitpoints at all times. I Guess that means hes undead. :D

Mr X is looking good!

Here is a new enemy for DKC:
Kito.png

Meet Kito. It has the same abilities (And disadvantages) as Swoopy. It flies on the spot or moves around like a Zinger does, and when it sees you, he swoops at you!

No, changed the hue in GIMP. If I could do that, I would've made the Insanely Gnawty blue. :D

I like the idea of insanely Gnawty, and Kitos a great idea!
I'm trying to change Hogwash from Game Boy to SNES, can anybody help? I'm a little stuck here.

Can I post some Mario related sprites? :|

I agree with Kat-Kong.
Also, maybe we should make a non-DKC related custom/edited sprites thread.
Also (again) I made this:

It's animated... click on the picture to view. Backflip like in DK64, but with SNES sprites. Awesome!

 DKCplayer, that image has earned itself a spot in the DKCLB features list.

If you look at the individual frames, he has used rotated images for the upper part of the animation. Therefore, it wouldn't qualify for your topic.

However, this can still be made with original sprites only. I think it might be better to use some of the barrel-blasting animation frames to smooth out the backflip animation. Also, get rid of the hand-slap frame at the end.

Thanks man, but you might want to use the new one.
I'm going to start posting some of my Mario sprites, if anyone wants to help improve them progress is very slow these days.

Hmm. Is it possible to rotate frames by hacking the DKC rom? I thought it was possible, but maybe I’m wrong. The topic I created is for any modified animation sequences. The only rule is that you don't modify any pixel data directly. You can change the pallet, mix-match frames, resize, rotate ect... as long as the DKC rom can be modified to incorporate the custom sprite sequences.

Anyways. DKCplayer thats a good idea for a DK move. Maybe Donkey Kong eats a SUPER YELLOW Banna, one that shines like a star (like Mario's invincibility star) which gives Donkey or Diddy special moves. Donkey gets the back flip and Diddy gets a sledge hammer to knock those strong baddies off screen that he normally can't kill.

Katastrophe Kong → Did you make those mario sprites by scratch or just modify existing ones?

Not really. I don't think there is much you can do to improve it.

Maybe make the blue clothing 1-2 shades lighter, his neck and right side of the head 1pixel wider, add a bit more shading and shape to his shoes. I'm not sure if those changes would be better or worse. The original(?) sprite on the left his head looks more round then your latest version. I like your version better but I think it needs to be 1-2 px wider?

Since the fangame thread has gone downhill, i thought i would post my custom sprite here for viewing.
It's a custom animal buddy that was originally supposed to be in a fan-made game but that seems less
likely now so I just thought i'd post it so people could see it. His name is "Spike" (Credit goes to gamer_boy997 for the name)

Enjoy :)

Yeah I intended to make some of those to make a playable Donkey Kong in Mugen actually. The DK in Mugen is well Garbage to put it nicely. I've also got some more sprites to look at. Image

Those sprites look cool. You make great custom DKC sprites (unlike me... and the person who made one of the DKs for MUGEN). :P Before your sheet, I was thinking of making a custom coconut gun, but I'm not that good at making custom sprites of these graphics.

I got some ideas for custom sprites...

Manky With TNT Barrels : A manky that throws TNT Barrels instead of Barrels, he throws them up higher than a regular barrel so that it won't blow up that close to him.

Anti Fuel Tanks : In the fuel track levels, there are tanks that give you more fuel, but what about one that takes away fuel, you need to dodge these fuel tanks.

Water Zingers : There just like zingers, except there blue, and underwater.

I'm going away to Virginia Beach tomorrow, so while I'm at vacation, Simion32 can make Young Link sprites DKC style. I don't know if he could use models to make pre-rendered sprites or not. And Simion, make sure he acts like a playable Kong. (Walking/Running, swimming, dash attack, throwing/carrying barrel, etc.) And make sure it's the Ocarina of Time Young Link model with Kokiri Sword and Deku Shield. Since I can't make accurate sprites, Simion32 will have to do it.

That was just a bunch of simple geometric shapes with a few textures. I have no idea how to do a character mesh, let alone much more than a few cubes and cylinders...

I don't even have those models anymore because they got deleted in the computer crash of '09 (unfortunately).

Simion, if someone made Young Link sprites for me, I would be happy. Maybe go ask aperson98 to see if he could go make the Young Link sprites.

I have a DKCLB request, and I'm going to ask you in the DELTA topic.
