I've actually been working on a little sprite comic of my own lately. I don't know where it's going yet, but we'll see. It's pretty silly already. :P

Dixie isn't the only one who can play Swanky's Dash, DK can too.

Well, this topic is pretty darn dead. Well, I'm still gonna show my stuff off. I make sprite comics in my spare time. I've made ones based on Sonic, Mario, and right now I'm even doing a crossover involving Kirby and Metroid. On the side I'm making a comic based on DKC, with some elements from the games, the old cartoon and some original ideas. I'm doing this mainly because theres a HORRIBLE lack of DK in the sprite comic community.

Image Image

These are only a few pages, so you can read the rest of the comic here. Even the 8-bit retelling of the original DK! I guess ill pot more stuff here if people want. I'm just wrapping up the Perilous Prologue and going into the Boisterous Beginnings!

Really liking your comic so far Addie. Good banter between the Kongs, and it's nice to see a more involved story.

I honestly don't have many additional words to say, Addie. Your comics are great, the background events are funny, and I love your storytelling style. Keep up the good work, and you'll earn much fame and banana fortune here on the Atlas, as well as in life too!

Glad to hear it! I'll put some up soon. :)

One thing I noticed is that a previous strip you shared seems to have a continuity issue; in the first frame, DK's charging his right fist for a punch, but the following frame shows him punching with his left. Then we see him holding his right fist out, as though he punched with it:
Spoiler!
Addie wrote:Image

Perhaps the second frame ought to be tweaked to show DK punching with his right fist — unless of course you're trying to show that he hit the Zinger with a series of punches, but that's not the impression I get.

I think that's my only criticism so far; your comics have been wonderful to read and look at.

Another minor nit-pick; in your latest strip, K. Rool says
Alright krew [...]
in one frame, then
Alright men [...]
in the next; the second "Alright..." feels a bit repetitive and redundant to me. Oh, and "scurvey" should be spelled scurvy. ;)

Yeah, I noticed those things too. Thing is, the sheet I'm using has only a handful of attacks for DK. The only pose of him charging up a punch has him revving up one hand, but the only punch pose I wanted to use had him punching with the other.

As for the krew thing, both panels were made at very different times and I kinda just slapped them together quickly after making the panels...sooo yeah.

Second page with our bad guys, and the first major change I've made to DKC lore.

And then the last panel breaks everyone's expectations. For some reason, the environment used reminds me of Metal Slug. Also, I wonder what that contraption does?

Both this background and Cranky's shack were made from assets from Metal Slug. The waterfall in the background is from Primal Rage though.

Also, I'm afraid that's no contraption. More like a half-baked disguise.

I was referring to a single panel comic from a while back. The comic showed donkey kong and diddy kong riding in a car in part of the minecart madness stage as King K rool passes by them in a corvette as the text on the comic says:
SOMETIMES, CRIME PAYS
Love that classic comic

I say you could ask Qyzbud about it, but in the end, do what you want. Also, Addie, do you still want me to comment on your comics? I don't feel that I'm particularly helpful simply shouting, "Wow! Incredible!" with each new comic. But then again, maybe you just want some random guy to do that! :dixiehappy:

Well she's the comic master here, who'd ya expect? :P

I've got an idea for my comic, but my emulator no longer supports layer customization :headache:
So I need a background snap of the Disco Train stage (no rails or sprites or floors)

What about ZSNES? You can hide different layers with that emulator.
