Looking for DKC Animated sprites

Postby Cyclone » April 7th, 2020, 2:39 pm

I looked everywhere, but can't find animated gifs of the various character/baddy animations.
Help appreciated.
Thanks.

Most of the map pages should have them. Right click and "view image" ought to be enough. Might have to disable some of the foreground layers first in some cases though. Some of them seem to have quite a bit of padding for reasons I can never remember.

The maps for the sequels were switched to CSS animations because they're a bit more flexible and allow for finer timing, but it would still be possible to construct gifs from them.

There is also DKCRE which can generate all the individual frames for the first game. If you're using lots of images, using single frames might end up saving a lot of space instead of many animations.

Images are always fun to work with. :kiddywin:

The extractor is built into DKCRE.

Just load up a v1.0U ROM, and go to the MODE button on the far right and select Extraction. That should get you where you need to go.
