I know what makes a Keylogger.

Only sincerely hope you are not thinking that I would inject a keylogger on a project I'm working hard for almost a year.
If I was interested to know what people have on their computers, I would use other means but would not ruin all my work with it.

I hope this is just a misunderstanding, do not think for a second that I would ruin all my work with something something like that. I may seem a little silly, but I'm not stupid.

DELTA has had a false positive of "Keylogger" since its inception. This goes hand-in-hand with game engines that require low level input handling. Since DELTA talks directly to the hardware driver (and so does the upcoming RE release), most Anti-viruses will call the program out. The only thing it's detecting is the usage of certain OS functionality.

In short, if you have a professional game engine, even one made in GM or MMF2, this false positive is unavoidable (it's simply due to the nature of game programs).

So there is not a keylogger in leo_core's program, there only appears to be the possibility of one from external observation.

Thanks for explanation Simion!

VideoViking, hope you are not offended by the way they I responded, but other people might assume I was trying to inject a keylogger in the game.

It is an option in the game to change the color from the first demo.

lol, I had not realized.
This is an engine programming error, thanks for reporting!

I have finished the "idle" and "floating" animations for Mr. X! :D He moves by floating above the ground due to him being a ghost.

Here is his "idle" animation:
Image
This one should be used when he is not moving or when he is floating in place.

Here is his "floating" animation:
Image
This one should be used when he is moving. Notice how his sword swings as he moves.

I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but I tried putting the frames into usable, individual, .PNG files. :)

Katastrophe, that's absolutely amazing! I LOVE it!!! I have a teeny tiny suggestion, I think he should float up and down for his idle animation, rather than be stationary.

Thank you :)

Y'know what else would look cool? Qyzbud suggested that he be a little bit transparent, to make him look even more like a ghost. Maybe Leo could get those two tweaks to work with the game engine.

What are you using to edit? I use Photoshop, and you can set the transparency settings to whatever you want.

I use Paint to make sprites. I have Photoshop, but I'm not sure how I could apply transparency to still frames.

I could upload a .PSD with transparency added to the frames. Is that how you and Leo share sprites?

For single frames, use PNGs (you need Paint.NET or some other editor that supports translucency). They save space. ;)

I've uploaded a lot of my PSDs in the animation submission thread, and I've made sprite sheets and uploaded them onto photobucket. If you upload a PSD, make sure you zip it first, or the website won't accept it.

Sounds easy enough. I'll work on adding transparency and bobbing and then save them to .PSD.

EDIT: Yeah, I'm having a little trouble getting them to be transparent. :|

What version of Photoshop do you have? It should be right above the layers box. It's a slider bar that says "opacity," and I think that's pretty standard, at least from Photoshop 5 to CS6. If you're really having trouble, you can send them to me (in a pm or upload them in the submission thread), and I can take a crack at it, if you like.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 10. And thank you for the tip :)

It turns out I (or at least the videos I was watching were) was getting "Transparency" and "Opacity" mixed up

EDIT: The .PSD files are now uploaded in the animation submission thread. I applied the bobbing to the idle animation and both animations have opacity applied.

Mr.X does't look transparent in any of the shots that exist... Maybe he wasn't meant to be tranparent..Just throwing that out there.

I took creative licensing and based him off of Kackle. Kackle doesn't appear transparent in any of his renders...

Image

http://www.mariowiki.com/images/thumb/7 ... Kackle.jpg

But in-game, he is.

Image

My guess is that Mr. X was meant to test your skills against avoiding Kackles and fighting Krooks. He might've been able to turn invisible so that the player would be more prepared for when Kaptain K. Rool turned invisible (for some odd reason). He could've even BEEN Kackle, before they determined that he looked cooler than the end boss.

Leading us to the conclusion that Mr. X was ultimately dropped, and Rare/Nintendo opted on Kreepy Krow instead.

Regarding transparency, I can do this with the engine.
I'll try to include it in the demo, but only a little appearance, and in the game, he as boss.

I can't wait to see what you have in store for him in the demo.

Now all that needs to be finished are his "hit" frames (which we agreed would be a simple head edit) and his "attack" frames (which just need coloring and shading). Those'll be finished before too long.

the demo should have been released on 15 was postponed until 22

Spoiler!

Guys, unfortunately we are forced to postpone the release of the second demo for the day 22/09

We want this demo has the fewest errors and is very complete, with at least 5 stages and 1 boss.

I spoke today with João Pedro he handed me the schedule him that if there were no unexpected serious, could launch on Sunday. But that date without having the assurance of having the head area and without having enough time to complete the beta test, this could result in a demo with errors and do not want that.

We do not want a project that we worked on for months, turning day and night, has a demo incomplete and with errors. We want a decent demo, with varied enemies, maps and well finished with the minimum possible errors.

I can assure that an extra week will make a big difference, we have a "follow mimic" partner very faithful to the originals, among other things. Well, that's it, I'm sure I can count on the understanding of you guys who accompany us on this journey.

To compensate for the delay, 15/09, I'll fix some bugs with the beta we provide to those who help us and post for everyone.

Follow the preparations and progress with the engine of João Pedro on Twitter, he will post every day on preparations with the engine until the release date:

Cool, a 5 level demo is coming, I can't wait!
I do got some questions.
1. Will the 5 levels and boss in the upcoming Sept 22nd demo be included in the final release?
2. What kind of animal friends, enemies, barrels, etc. will the demo include?

Thanks for taking your work to our project, this animation "idle" and "floating" it is enough for a small appearance in the demo (we'll do it somehow).

Answering your questions:

1 - Yes, perhaps with some modifications.

2 - This is not yet fully defined...

Guys, the demo is almost finished but emerged and some unforeseen problems in beta testing. I'm being honest with you guys, you can be sure that we are very eager to publish the result of much effort, on the other hand we want the best for you guys as well for the project, we want to release something for people to play and not to forget the project until are ready.

Consider it a small delay of two days, these two days will make all necessary adjustments to launch with minimal bugs. You guys deserve.

I know I can count on your understanding, was promised for today but we ask two more days, Sunday and Monday to make these final adjustments, will launch on Tuesday. With or without bugs, Tuesday is the day. I promisse!

I apologize for having raised expectations for today :dixiecry:
