I am Jesse and I came by this forum while searching stuff. I am currently hacking Donkey kong country returns and I wanted to know if people here are interested in hacking the game. However, where can I post a dkcr hacking thread? since there doesn't seem to be a clear section...

Hi Jesse, welcome to DKC Atlas.

I'm personally quite interested in the concept of DKCR hacking. Perhaps our ROM Hacking section would be the most appropriate place for such a topic. I'm not sure if Wii games fit the typical definition of a ROM, but I think it's a good fit anyway.

Feel free to start a Donkey Kong Country Returns hacking topic; I'm keen to hear what you've learnt/achieved so far.

I used to come here all the time in high school, usually lurking around and whatnot (when I wasn't spewing the occasional bit of nonsense, ha ha!). This was a bit before DKC Returns came out, I think.

Everyone was still dreaming of DKC 4. I remember having a blast reading everyone's discussions of DKC's storyline and the cannonicity of various elements in the franchise. I say theorizing is just another form of storytelling, and I'm glad it's always been encouraged here. (Even ESPECIALLLY the "out there" stuff!)

After misplacing my old password, it's kind of a nice thing making a new account -- sort of a nice way to start fresh.

Anyway, the forums popped into my head for some reason this morning, and my little sister and I decided to drop by. HOLEEEE SHIZNIT this website looks beautiful. Major respect for every aspect. We were so impressed by the (ANIMATED!!!) level mapping you guys have put together -- With music, no less! Also, glad to see I can still count on this place for up to date DK news. It's like coming home.

Hi! I have just realized that I haven`t posted before, even though I come here often
I am also a member of the other forum, DKvine, since 2006.

I love this forum and the whole website, especially the animated maps. Thank you so much for making it! I have been a huge fan of DKC since I was a kid..that would be some 20 years. I am enchanted by the games, their look, atmosphere and music.

I would like to meet more DKC fans, I don`t know any fans in real, non-virtual life!

Japanese DKC hackers also see this forum to get DKC hacking documents, but all documents and threads are written in English, so they have some difficulty to understand them. I'd like to translate these documents to Japanese and make discussion threads for Japanese community in DKC Atlas. Is that OK?

I love the idea of DKC Atlas being more welcoming and accessible to DKC hackers from around the world — especially to those from Japan, where the hacking scene seems to be particularly strong. I'd love to implement a user-friendly translation system into the forum here, but until that happens (and perhaps even once that's in place) your offer sounds like a very nice idea to help bridge the language gap.

We can discuss the details of this via PM, but I just wanted to let you and others know that I support the idea.

I like Donkey kong games. When i was young my friend have the donkey kong country 3 ntsc us cart when it was released to the market. It was a very nice moment with very nice graphics comparing others games.
Soon i will receive a Super Donkey Kong jap sfc dev cart.

So, I didn't find this post right away, so I went ahead and posted in another section of the site. Unfortunately, I was very poorly received (by some of what I imagine are the surlier forum goers), so I shall try to start over here and just introduce myself - Hello, my name is Lovecraft, an avid, avid fan of Donkey Kong Country. I have to admit though, I'm only familiar with the earlier games, working my way up. Working on getting 100% in Donkey Kong Country 2 currently. I love the music and recently found the original composer David Wise on Twitter and started following him haha. Anyways, excited to discuss things Donkey Kong. Also, I can beat Donkey Kong Country in like 30 minutes (maybe...something like that...).

Well, I'm pretty sure a lot of you know me already, but I never really posted an introduction to myself. No time like the present!

I'm Jungle, I like hanging around on the Chatbox and.... Chatting (obviously) to people, mostly Qyz though seeing as his timezone is the only one that really fits with mine.
I LOVE the DKC trilogy, the original DKC is my favorite with DKC 2 in a close second place, I LOVE the games for their beautiful graphics and astonishing music and overall they just hold great value to me. That's about all there is to know about me, but if you'd ever like to learn more (for some reason) I usually stalk the chatbox and come on everyday.

For those of you who I haven't met, I look forward to meeting you too.

I know the main site since so many years ago, but I've never registered until now (I don't know why xD)
I like DKC since I was 5 years old that was when I played the game for the first time. My YouTube Channel (I was previously known as ManuMaster654) was completely dedicated to DKC series... until youtube changes makes itself decay (arround 2012/2013), but well... that's another story...

And that's it, I still enjoy of the DKC games (not so much as old times, but still) and I hope I can have a good time here.

If you're like me, spaceman2028, you're busy with school/work until visiting the Atlas is out of your schedule. Then, you're afraid to return, because who knows what might happen? Naturally, however, we've both returned.

I joined this site about 4 years ago... now's a good time to post here! Sup. I'm RainbowSprinklez, Rainbow, Sprink, or Mike Nice to meet you. Currently, I am making a sweet DKC hack. Tools I use are limited. However, I am making HEAVY use out of Simion32's object list. I am hacking in hex, mostly. I'm not very imaginative, so all the tilemmaps are the same... but I think you'll find I could still do a lot! Text right now is the hardest part for me. I'm putting that off until later. I am working mostly in bank $bd.

I'm known as Flurry online, I'm a huge Donkey Kong fan (especially DKC3!) and I thought I should join here since this site is full of experts on Donkey Kong Country. I also hope that by joining I can help make this site a little more active again! By the way, this probably isn't important, but I want to mention that I'm also in charge of the Donkey Kong Wiki at the moment

My favorite games are DKC3, DKC2 and DK64. The others are amazing as well of course, I don't think a single DKC game is bad. I grew up with Returns, but later tried out the original trilogy and fell in love with it. A few years ago I also started playing DK64 (which I fully completed because yes, I don't have anything better to do) and Tropical Freeze when it got ported to the Switch.
