I've wondered this ever since I've played DK 64, is there a family tie between Manky Kong and Lanky Kong? They're both orangutans, and they're both Kongs. I was thinking maybe Manky is Lanky's evil twin? I just wondered what everyone else's thoughts were. I don't know if Rareware actually specified any connection or not.

I don't think it's likely, seeing as Manky Kong isn't a character, it's a drone. As in, there are hundreds of Manky Kongs that look identical. Lanky's not likely to be related, seeing as he's not identical to them. It's a possibility though. Really, it depends on your views of the series, because many believe that "drones" are just spawned by the Kremling Force Power, and that they aren't really actual characters. And many others don't believe this.

I just thought for maybe a "story line" that the Mankys were an evil Kong society and they kicked out Lanky, so Lanky joined the rest of the Kongs... or the other way around.
