Hah, I actually set that as my avatar a minute or so before I read that! I'm diggin' the Blizzard Bear, though, so I think I'll change it to that.

I'm working on a lot of other characters.

Edit:

I like how Bleak turned out; I'm going to use him instead!

A Kremling target from DKC3! I'm going to use it as my avatar.

EDIT: What the heck? When I try to select it as my avatar, it says "file size must be between 0 and 6 Kb." Help?

Paint sucks. In GIMP, you can do things like reduce the palette to 256 colors and make it a lot smaller.

Glitch avatars are a good idea. :)

But the size seems to be a little off...

Yeah, I know. I didn't use the tutorial Qyzbud made as that frame was a little bit too small. So I just did my own random size. I guess I can improve it a bit.

I could keep doing some glitch avatars and post here. Would be fun :).

Not too tall, just different dimensions. It needs to be wider.

Everyone seems to like Qyz's new avatar so much, I noticed that mine looks like I overdid it too much and I can't see why. So I turned it back to the one I originally had.

It's bigger than average, and certainly not designed to regulations... but I like it. :D

I guess this will be a bit of an issue while we're all still trying things out here. Once we get a decently populated gallery of 'official' avatars, I'll begin to ask for users to adopt one of them, and not to change around more than bi-annually (or something). I can allow/disallow any user (or all users) to change avatars, so if people change too much, I can put a stop to such antics.

Sounds good. I only complained because the Avatar is the quickest way to recognise people, and it could get confusing if every continually changes.

Joe, as a keen avatar connoisseur, do you think it would be better to have them displayed on the left (like most forums) or the right, as they are now?

My opinion: Well, at least I think that it's good the way it is now, with the avatars on the right. It's different that most forums, so this symbolizes DKC Atlas's adventurous theme, and keeps it exciting, instead of the same-old layout every other forum uses. Besides, I'm used to looking to the right.

Well, at least I think that's what he may have said... ;)

Apart from some things needing to be DKC-ified, otherwise the forum looks great. As for people changing their avatars, I think you should have to stick with your avatar for at least a month before you can change it. I am probably not going to change mine anymore, I just felt that DKJB DK seemed a slight bit out-of-place here.

Hrm... I'm not exactly sure on this matter. I'm used to avatars being on the left side of the forums, but having them on the right side isn't terribly bad. :/

If I had to pick one... maybe on the left, but I dunno. I'm not too picky about it to be honest.

I don't know what a corndogasaur is, but I like it the way it is. I'm used to it, and I actually now like it more than like it is on say, the DKU forums, it just makes it easier to read the posts when the Avatar/Profile and such are on the right side.

I think it's easier because you read from left to right, and when avatars are on the left you have to skip over them; but with avatars on the right, you are immediately looking at the text. That's another reason I like avatars on the right - it just makes sense.

I am looking for some "Swirlwind" sprites from Donkey Kong Land to use as my avatar. I did a google search but couldn't find anything. I also thought it would be cool if the Swirlwind sprite was animated a bit. I'm not sure Qyz if you like that idea or not but I don't think it would be very intrusive. But static is fine.

Thanks.
