^ Can you stop using the enter key so often? Makes it a little painful to read your posts to be honest.... :/ The first three crash games were awesome. Not sure if they were about 'tricky platforming' so much, but they were certainly fun. From what I recall Wrath of Cortex was alright too, apart fro...
Are you serious? You hadn't played this game before the AVGN review? Yeah, this was one of Rare's best during the NES days. The bike sections were extremely hard, though... regardless of whether they were done with one player or two. Music for the first level is fantastic, needs a remix in my opinio...
Not to be rude or anything Kowz, but are you intent on bashing this game? Reading some of the other threads on this subforum, you seem to hate Pacifica, Krocktopus,( My fav Boss!) and the way it plays. I love this game, possibly more than the original. ( And thats saying something). But you were ri...
Natural selection maybe? (in my post above...) Jomingo simplifies it a little bit I guess. It's not the aggressive and 'more evolved' creatures that survive. Each species ideally has a wide range of animals making up its population with different varying characteristics. Depending on the changes in ...
Thanks so much for uploading this! I was about to ask about it, to be honest. There are a lot of good tunes for the GBA game. I just don't like how they've been adapted to the levels, to be honest. So it'll always be a bigger pleasure for me to listen to them on their own without the gameplay. Hones...
Eh, I've decided I'll do a segmented any% run for it anyway. Just because I need something I can play over and over on a handheld and New SMB is getting a little old in my opinion. I'll post back with my best times after I've finished the run, then we can see how they compare to a console run of the ...
I actually played through DKC this weekend for the first time in a while. Time was horrible (just under two hours if I recall correctly) but it was worth it I think. I also beat Super Mario Galaxy again with all stars. Can't believe how corny the ending is. No real spoilers, but just the way Charles...
@above: Lol... Orang Pendek literally means 'Short Person'. Would you have guessed that one? :P I don't think evolution is really to do with predators; it's a mixture of environmental factors. It's generally to do with natural selection, in that a population will evolve over time as those with bodie...
Lol, Stormy Seas doesn't count. >.> I forgot about the unstable floor one, and I do remember speeding up when rolling through the Bristles in Dingy Drainpipe if I recall correctly, but that isn't my point. Even if there are occasional speed boosts in certain levels, the game is not designed for play...
Binary Adventurer? You mean Hexadecimal Adventurer, right? :P (I'd hate to have to use codes for games in binary, lol) I'll be honest and say I'm not too flash on this. If someone makes some contributions, let them have credit on the appropriate page. Making groups of these members isn't really nece...
Just picked this game up the other day since I wanted something to play during a long car trip. And I know not to again. For anyone who picks up this port, it becomes quite apparent when you start playing that the game is considerably slower than the games on the SNES. Running is extremely slow. Pai...
Heh... I was just watching a video the other day in Biol. about apes and their similarities or differences to humans. Host was David Attenborough, of course; except he was a couple dozen years younger in this video than he is now. :P Was amazing to see how close up he got to some Gorillas. When I sa...
Kiddy's Waterskip... hopefully I don't need to explain to people here, but if newbies start joining who havent played the trilogy through fo 100% then it might need to be detailed. Otherwise... not sure what else to say. You can sort of manipulate the lightning in lightning lookout; if you're runnin...
Lol, I'm not talking any old single player game, though. Most one player games I'll go through once, then play a second time several years later. It's only the really good ones that I'll play more than twice and end up getting overly obsessed over. Some multiplayer games are alright, but I'll tend t...
^ lol, yeah... I tried recording a run of BK with commentary once, but got really put off while editting. I guess I'm used to the british and american accents I hear so often on TV or youtube. :P Good to know, though. It's also good to see you've found a bit more time for site updates these days; th...
^ not sure what you're talking about there; it works for me at the moment. There is a possibility for a mess up with the coding, since that sort of thing happens from time to time with links over there. I can tell you now though, if you're able to create a few walkthroughs for the game which showcas...
The only real problem about DK64's multiplayer is the bananaports, and the fact that if someone was hurt, all they'd need to do is find one, warp away from the other player and stand on the pad until the other player came to get them. Then while the other player did this the hurt player could grab h...
I've been to a couple of the official Nintendo events, but those are always pretty rubbish in my opinion. Conventions which are hosted by Gamers for Gamers are generally the best kind. I've been to a couple of Smash Bros meets in the past, but the drive to get to them took ages and I'm not really in...
My best was 1.12 or something on the GBA version. Pretty good. :P ...not really. Although the GBA's gameplay is much slower than that of the SNES, my best time from back when I bought the game was something like 1.02 or 1.03. You've got quite a bit of improvement yet. :P That's really odd that the ...
For affiliates: An email to paul AT spiralmountain.co.uk OR luke AT spiralmountain.co.uk, and I'm sure you'll get one with us. You'd need to get him a 40x90 button (animated if possible, slightly smaller like the example you posted above is okay); you can use this one and reupload it if you like: ht...
Jomingo: When I bought my 360 last year, this was the first game I bought (it actually came along with the system, but oh well) and I loved it to bits. Grant Kirkhope's soundtrack is a real treat if you haven't downloaded it from Rare's site already - extremely soothing and pleasant to listen to. Ou...
I only really play games on a Friday night or Saturday if I'm not out with friends. When you live in a house of seven people, there's usually someone around who will play video games with you. I consider each of my siblings a friend, which is something that very few people do (even though they can ...
For DKC2, picking Animal Antics is a no brainer. I don't think I ever lost that many lives on other levels, unless it was when I first played the game all those years ago. It was really tough; finally getting used to one section after losing so many times, only to get tortured by the next. Swoopy Sa...
What's everyone's best times for this level? (just racing through to the finish, not 100%) SDA has a record up boasting a time of 54.70 seconds by Cyberwrath, but numerous people have beaten this in the past; and personally speaking, I'd love to see a video get posted up there with a better time if ...
Oh, wow... didn't notice that the post counts had gone. :/ I didn't neccessarily think they'd need to go; the only reason they would I M O was if someone was spamming to boost their rank; in which case changing the basis of ranks were given out would make more sense than hiding post counts altogether.
They'd obviously give details on how they'd like SnS to work, perhaps on what sort of design and visuals to use, but I doubt they'd be working too closely with them, else they may as well do the port themselves.
Hmm? The version of OoT which comes with Masterquest hasn't been improved, though; the graphics are still the same as they were on the 64. The improved graphics sound cool; but I'm assuming they'll be taking out a lot of the tricks from the original that I've gotten used to over the past few months....
Again, you don't need to be good at speedrunning to compete; just practice a few times and watch an actual speedrun for help with routes. And even then, you don't have to go for gold if you decide to compete. Last time for the BK face off we had one guy keep on going for 5 hours after everyone else ...
Hrmm... Apart from the homepage, no page on the site will load for me anymore; I get an IE pop up message saying "Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site: URLHERE. Operation Aborted." And while this does provide me with an excuse to start getting used to using Firefox, I'm a little...
I didn't tell him to edit his post, I told him to stop posting so sloppy. And the rule is not to edit the post once someone has replied to it, not quoted. Egh... wish we didn't have to take silly rules from the DKU like that. The only case where this applies is if someone makes a trollsome comment ...
Hey guys, Just making this topic to ask how many people would be interested in taking part in something like this. I brought it up before after the BK face off back in early June, and thought it might be a good idea to get the community together, as well as to serve as a means of advertising the DKC...
I only really play games on a Friday night or Saturday if I'm not out with friends. I don't play new games very much, lol; I might buy a new game every couple of months, but usually I'll go back to the classics of old consoles and replay them again. I replay games that I love over and over; the DKC ...
^ if I recall correctly you can easily check which version your game is by going to Jungle Hijinx and trying to walk through the perched necky enemy on the rock. From what I recall DK is infront when I restart. I use a PAL version 1.00, though. If it happens like that in V1.2 then it would lead me t...
I don't have any Foes (or Friends) at the moment, but maybe we should leave those sections open. Just in case. :) ... just in case what? It's not like they'll be gone forever if we get rid of them anyway, but all the same they aren't doing any good... I've used a friends system on another forum, an...
^ You should keep going in the case of a small mistake. It's good practice for later levels. Only case where you should restart from a minor mistake would be if you were recording, or if the run was segmented and you had greater control over your errors. When I run BK, I'll keep going with my runs u...
Removal of the 'foes' part of the profile? Perhaps the friends and foes section altogether? I've just seen it cause a few hassles around other forums; kinda like how people treat others if they aren't in their friend's top eight on myspace, if you know what I mean.
Right now? Nothing. As for the breakfast debate, Weebix are the way to go. Hopefully Qyz knows what I'm talking about... lol. 6-8 a day with milk sloshed on top is great. I don't usually eat sugarry cereals. I remember having some fruit loops for a while late last year, and they seemed to affect me ...
I haven't run through any of the DKC games in a long time, now. I guess I have phases I go through where I'll play one game to death for a month or two before moving onto another. At the moment I'm playing Banjo-Kazooie, trying to get a new run up on the SDA. My last time was 2.57 (within 2 minutes ...
From what I recall Grant only played a small part in Goldeneye's music; most of it was done by Graham Norgate. Newer titles included Ghoulies and Viva Pinata, the latter of which contained arguably the best music he has composed during the course of his entire career. All the same, he did play a hug...
Banjo-Pilot should have waited until the DS (even though that would mean even more years of development; it was already something like 5 or so when it came out). The early screenshots for it showed some really nice tracks with great terrain; t'was a shame they had to take these out because of the ha...
