Re: Playtonic Games — A new life for Rareware?

As I mentioned, the game will apparently be available on PC, so that should mean you'll have a chance to play it without having to buy new hardware. Of course, that's not to say it'll run well on your computer — that'll depend on how capable your machine is, and how well optimised/demanding the game...

Re: Bootleg allusion?

I get what you're saying about little/big Mario, and the Crazy Kong sprite issues, but I personally doubt either of those are what Cranky was referring to. The inked imbecile returns! :D You know, it's actually possible to warp to Orang-utan Gang from any of the four 'empty corners' on Kongo Jungle's map screen paths. Re: DKCLB Custom Level Ideas

That looks nice, Phyre; perhaps "Sunset Skies" would be a fitting name? Soft and pretty, like the level itself. :) Some thoughts on the aesthetics: The smooth look of the clouds makes the pixelation of the sprites quite evident. I don't know for sure if I would recommend pixelating the bac...

Re: Playtonic Games — A new life for Rareware?

I'm so glad that these guys still have a strong passion to create the kind of games that Rareware were known for in the 90s. :D It sounds like both David Wise and Grant Kirkhope are keen to provide tunes, so that's fantastic! Re: DKC 3D Modeling/Animation Project

Looks like an improvement to me. Diddy's fur still looks a bit pale/light, though; a darker brown (perhaps quite like the darkest parts of his fur) would suit him a lot better. The cave environment's lighting looks quite nice with the ambient occlusion, I must say — as does the banana pile! The ligh...

I like the concept of these shots showing the jungle beyond the cave. Is the cave supposed to have some sort of internal light source? Nice job with that latest short, Sono. The Last of Us is a masterpiece, and you've done well to capture the essence of such richly developed characters, environments and events.

Re: DKC-Related Custom Animations

Very nicely done, Phyre. The effect is quite convincing, and the fact that it can be done with existing sprites is a bonus. :)

Re: What were the Kackles and Kloaks before they died?

I've always been curious about the origin of Kloaks. This looks like a significant improvement in body language and camera work — well done on both counts.
