I never said shoot you with a gun. I meant shoot you with my new camera phone, so that I can post your picture up on my wall and deface it. :P ;) Qyz: I've shown a few tricks, but I'm not sure I can pull off some of the stuff that's been posted here. I'm all up for including some challenge runs of l...
Wow, lookie here! Not only do you get to hear my amazingly sexy voice (ahem...) but you get to see me suck at Donkey Kong Country, too! Which is kind of funny; the people who have viewed this so far on Youtube think I'm quite good at this game, although a quick glance at my playing from you guys wil...
No real point, since Qyz still hasn't enabled sigs.
At the same time, congrats. I haven't played the DKC games in a little while (although I'm going back to the original now because I can) but nice work!
No, they're not doing the level through DC. If anything they'll leave it for a sequel. By the way, for those who have played the demo, I've created a FAQ with everything you need to know which can be found here: http://www.spiralmountain.co.uk/site_viewtopic.asp?id=18092&forum=13" onclick="windo...
Well, Gregg Mayles designed both Banjo-Kazooie and a large portion of the DKC trilogy so it's no real surprise. I think the similarities between characters are just because of the same character artists - it's like how all those knowledge-deprived people on youtube and the like will start talking ab...
Just beat Grabbed by a Ghoulies, so finally I can remove a game from my 'currently playing' list. Fantastic game, though. A shame that the hint of a sequel at the end didn't come to be. I'm thinking about going through it again soon, to take snapshots of all the Rareware references if I can. From wh...
Search Terrarium on Wikipedia and you may have realised what the level was going to be about a little earlier. ;P Sometimes I just wish that I could go through these sorts of levels without the vehicles though. The trailer for it amazed me... but there was still that one part of me longing for tradi...
Didn't have to post your life story... (and where is it possible to drive at 15 apart from on private property, by the way?) Referencing someone more nooby than you doesn't make you less of a noob. :P (by the way, the whole noob thing isn't serious to let you know) by the way: Mr Vile's challenges r...
Qyz: Yeah, I played the GBA port of Secret of Mana (believe it was titled Sword of Mana but was pretty much the same game) a while ago but didn't beat it; I was playing it on my friend's GBA but I can't remember where we got up to. Chrono Trigger is another game I have to play apparently... :/ gb: U...
Yeah, the first few parts are pretty awful, I'll be honest. I only really got the hang of the trade around part 21 I'd say. :/ The game, all in all, is pretty average. The final boss is nice, but the rest, for a Rare game... mm. Grabbed by the Ghoulies gets a lot more flak than this does, but which ...
Playlist Link I decided to board the Let's Play bandwagon a little while ago. Dunno why, I was just bored I suppose. I've started with this game, since I didn't see too many other LPs up on youtube for it, or at least any completed ones. Not my favourite game, I suppose, but I'll see how it turns o...
Too bad this was never properly released in Aus until the Virtual Console... >_> Anyway, I played through a couple of years back and got up to the Axem Rangers on the rom before my save was written over/corrupted/deleted (don't have a clue). Anyone mind telling me how far I was? :/ But yeah, it was ...
Agh... playing far too much right now, more than I can handle. I doubt I'll end up finishing these games soon since I keep jumping from one to another. Anyway, I'm playing the original Megaman as well as Zelda: Windwaker on the Gamecube. I'm also having a taste of Final Fantasy III (VI) on the SNES ...
Brawl isn't really that good to be honest. Not nearly as ground breaking as melee. But ah well. If I ever play games at a party, I try to go with something that you can play in teams and 4-way, as well as something that most people will enjoy regardless of what gaming genre they prefer. Melee goes d...
I have Lylat Wars and Mario Kart 64. I reckon I should have bought the originals off ebay instead, though. I'm keen on getting Megaman 9, but I'm not sure if I should get it for the Wii or 360. I only just got into the Megaman games recently, so I'll play through the first eight then decide.
None of the phones I've owned have been really flash since I only really use them to call people or text them occasionally. My first was a Sony Ericcson, can't remember the model. I lost that after several years - it just fell out of my pocket, then when I went back to find it after realising (only ...
To be honest I really don't like how they've tried to put Mario into just about every sport spinoff under the sun. Mario Kart is fine, and Mario Tennis was alright I suppose, but Mario Golf and Baseball... egh. Not to mention the Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix spinoff. The games are fine if you in...
$7, eh? I got a used N64 with two controllers and 5 games(including Jet force Jemini and Super Mario 64) for 10(not to mention that it also came with an SNES and PS1, though neither of them had any cords or accesories). And I got Metroid Prime for 6 dollars, and DKR for 5 dollars. I said $7 Austral...
Nice shirt, Qyz. The one I saw was a black one with DK and Diddy on the front, I believe from the promotional art which was released with DKC on the GBA. Oh, and I recognise that keyring DK on the far left - it's from HJ's, right? I got one of those, too, but I'm not exactly sure where he's gone unf...
^^ I remember a while back, Tompa posted some vids of him playing through the game with commentary. Looked as though he prerecorded a run, sent it to some other people, then recorded their conversation using skype or something, then editting the clips together.
I remember seeing a cheap, print on Donkey Kong shirt once at a shop called Jay Jays if I recall correctly, but didn't buy it. I don't get too much in terms of merchandise, but I do like to collect posters of games. I've imported a few Nintendo Power ones from the DKC trilogy and Diddy Kong Racing. ...
Wow; you must really show your obsession with these games if your family gives you this stuff now. Where'd they find the Jungle Juice, though? Wouldn't think they'd sell that sort of stuff in Australia.
Just beat MP2 with 100%; really wish Australian games didn't cost so much, else I'd hop down to the shops and buy the third game right now. Have to say, the concept art galleries are nothing short of brilliance; just seeing all of the designs really takes my breath away. Especially when you see some...
I think Qyz was saying he'd make one before if I recall correctly. Kameo arrived in the mail today. I'd already played through the first area in the demo, but I was really amazed once I arrived at the second area and got into the game properly. It's really stunning; reminds me of Shrek in a sort of ...
I just watched the TAS of Super Metroid the other day; skips practically everything in the game. There's some weird glitches used involving the X-Ray scope that took several minutes to execute, but it was still amazing to see what had been discovered in the game. Can't wait for Sami to finish the BK...
Don't think the game was too hard, and neither was Bowser in my opinion; the boss fights in all of the 3D Mario platformers with Bowser have been disappointing for me. Heh... the ending quote where Mario blurts out 'Welcome... welcome NEW GALAXY' is so bloody corny, felt like shooting him at that st...
Lightning Lookout - spend a bit of time learning how the lightning works. Run through the level for a little bit, then stop and wait for the lightning in front of you; run then stop. The water sections of the level are likely to be your biggest enemy here - just make sure you time your jumping caref...
They have a Talk like a Pirate day at the DKU. It ended a couple of days ago, and yet I've noticed Angry sun has talked in pirate talk a couple of times here. ARRRRRRR!!!! Me be playing that fine game known only has Banjo-Tooie. And me be thinking of playing through that great series Ratchet & ...
Woo! Just beat Metroid Prime 2. Have to say, the Sky Temple key hunt was a bit disappointing, since it kept me from completing the game in full for four years. The final bosses were a bit easy, but it was still a nice end to the game.
Played through DKC again a week or two ago.... damn, need to practice. 1.42 was my final time for 100%. I'd like to break the 1.00 barrier, but I'm playing too many other games at the moment and it's hard to play this over and over again. I might try and see what I can do for an any% run of the game...
Having a bit of a metroid moment right now. Played through Metroid Prime for 100% and started playing through Metroid Prime 2 again. Then I went back to a game I hadn't touched in a long time; one that I hadn't had much fun with before. Started up old Super Metroid, beat a few bosses, picked up the ...
^ Oh no they didn't! It wasn't uncommon for one character to have a certain puzzle in one area, but several banana balloons or banana bunches for another character in that same area, even if it was such an out of place area to get to. Stuff like that is just silly; you shouldn't need to go back into...
Yeah, different coloured bananas were definitely not cool. There's poor platforming for you - when your pickups are restricted by their colour and not the abilities you have to get to them.
If you're going to use those comparisons to make it seem like it was inspired by DKC, then practically any platformer could be compared to DKC and said to have been 'inspired' by it. Saying Crash was inspired by DKC is a bit of a stretch; the banana and wumpa fruit systems used in each have been aro...
I half agree with what you're trying to say, Jomingo; I mean I'm not sure that pattern is completely sound, but I do think that the product of DK64 was largely because of the large pressure to produce something which was up to standard with everything else on the N64, and which wasn't left behind in...
Apart from that, I LOVED this game. For the N64, the graphics were absolutely beautiful, on par, possibly surpassing (In terms of effects and such) what Banjo-Kazooie brought a year earlier. ...wut? The graphics in DKC were better than those of DK64. DK64 was far too big so they actually had to cut...
I was in the first grade of school, and there was a games day at school. Most kids brought in board games, but one particularly spoilt child brought in his Game Boy. So I sat in the corner with my friend watching this guy play through super mario bros and some karate game while this kid played. Two ...
I started a let's play of Starfox Adventures the other day for the hell of it and in one part ranted on about this game. I think one of the things I really hated was how the developers would get lazy and rather than design different challenges for all the kongs, they'd waste a good deal of the 200 b...
I already realise you can adjust the amount of lives/health etc; but I found whenever I tried to play with friends it'd just get boring hiding from each other. In Banjo-Tooie's shootout and Goldeneye, you can play one-shot kills which eliminates camping problems on large maps and turns games into pr...
