Re: The Mysterious Mr X

These three auctions were the only ones available on eBay.. no German ones, though.

Anyone here have any German friends who might have a chance to snoop around old Video Game stores and check for it?

Re: Free camera control code for DKL?

Yeah, I used the map viewer and kept using Alt+Print Screen. I also hacked the level starting points in the ROM to be able to get to those inaccessible places (like lots of solid space). Maybe the header format is the same for DKL2..? I can't relative search, but you should give DKL2 a go and searc...

Re: DKC Resource Editor

Sounds great! Also, about the castle gfx; maybe it's just a rare coincidence where raw graphics are a better choice than compressed? Sounds far-fetched, but I've seen it a few times before. First of all, the spark that lit up this fuse for DKL3 ROM hacking was none other than our very own Blaziken257 , whose noble hacking effort bore fruit and eventually grew into a small document consisting of the Header format of Donkey Kong Land III. Re: The Donkey Kong Country Level Builder

WiiWare titles and Virtual Console ROM Images are .WAD files. You decrypt them with WADTool and eventually get yourself chunks of files, often named DKC NTSC 000.des or something like that, often ranging from 000 to 007. The biggest of these .des files is the ROM, compressed. Use U8 Tools to decompr...

Re: DKC's Wonky Font Format

I can almost guarantee you that the lower 'glitched' font is the same font, but loaded in the 4bpp format.
If you get a chance, whether was it in Tile Molester, YY-CHR, or whatever tile editing tool, try setting the format to 2bpp. It will be the answer to your problem.
