I just noticed how different the GBA version of Treetop rock is, it's like a completely different song :0 Not only are there bass and drums, it actually has more melody in it. It mixes around what was already there and adds a lot of new stuff.. the bass line even does a variation of DK Island Swing'...

This is a great new band guys, the version on the MySpace page has really bad compression but if you want a better copy I have one.

Kong-Fu's orchestrated plus breakbeat idea for Bad Boss Boogie sounds awesome, try that.

And as much as I would hate to see yet another trance remix in this collab, you could give it a shot with Tree Top Rock. It's the only genre other than rock or jazz that I can imagine it in..

I came up with an idea for the album name: Live from DK Island

Though that suggests it was all played live.. Songs from DK Island? Kind of like Tears for Fear's "Songs from the Big Chair"

Just got a great plug-in called Addictive Drums, which can create real sounding drum tracks out of MIDI sequences, and works with most programs. It's amazing and I recommend it to anyone working on this collab.

Hey Qyz, should I work on this again? Coming back to it now, I could probably make my own 60 second metal remix of Gangplank Galleon to use in the advert. I'm not sure how fast I could finish it considering how many things I'm working on right now, and I leave for a one month trip starting August 1s...

If you have trouble figuring out one of the channels, try recording it and slowing down the audio file and try to play it on an external instrument, like a guitar or a piano. These are all things that helped me, good luck with this.

My suggestion for figuring out a MIDI is to use an emulator and activate only one channel at a time, figuring out each individually. This way you can get all the small stuff hidden in there.

Yeah, I haven't done much since 2 years ago when I was last working on my own engine. I have drawn some plans and got everything set up to make what I envision, but other projects, school, and friends have always delayed progress.

That's some awesome stuff, I hope he joins the project.

Northern Hemispheres has always been one of my favorite tracks, haha. And Chekan Winter is one of my favorite DK remixes.. even though I don't recognize anything from the original.

Gangplank Galleon and Aquatic Ambiance are both really over-remixed. I can see why they haven't been claimed yet, it would be hard to think of original ideas.

Also, I was wondering if a collab was possible for the main theme, that would be cool.

I'm no remixer, but I've been working with two of my friends on various rock covers of DKC songs. The only songs I've completed at this point are rock covers of Ancient Beaver Bop and Fade to Red. What I've been doing in isolating the audio channels in an emulator, recording them, then laid them out...

School's closed due to swine flu

For all the tracks people say they don't like, I like simply because they provide a different take than any previous remixes. But the rapping was really bad on the last one. A shame, because I think it could have worked really well if they had someone who was actually good at it.
