Today was a crazy day for me. Some of you may know that Best Buy held an event for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U today from 12 to 5 PM. I went to it today, and got there at 12... and there was a long line out the door! In fact, it was so long that several people, including myself, didn't even get a ch...

Re: Footage of Beta DKC GBC!

The slower and lower-pitched music is quite odd. It seems that the entire game is slower, actually. Why is it like this? The only thing I can think of is that the final game does take advantage of the GBC's double speed mode (where it uses a processor that's about twice as fast as normal), and for w...

Donkey Kong Land 2 was announced for the Japanese 3DS Virtual Console, with a release date of April 16. As far as I know, none of these have been announced outside of Japan yet. Now it's only a matter of time before DKL3 gets announced for the Japanese VC (of course, they'll get the GBC version). A...

Donkey Kong Land to appear in Japan's 3DS Virtual Console!!

Some people may know that the DKC games used to be on the Wii Virtual Console, but were pulled late in 2012 for no explicable reason. There was speculation that it had something to do with Rare being owned by Microsoft. Well, it appears that this isn't the reason, as the first DKL will appear on the...

I noticed the misspelling of Dixie Kong within less than a minute of playing the Japanese version for the first time (which was early in 2007, over 7 years ago). Then again, the cartridge also misspells "trademark" as "tradmark". I guess whoever was responsible for the Japanese v...

There's something that I just realized, and it's bugging me... in the original trailer for this game, there was music that was basically a remix of Chase from the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country 3 (which in turn is a remix of DK Island Swing from the original DKC). Here is the video of this trail...

Donkey Kong Land 2 / III - Backup save restoration bug

In both Donkey Kong Land 2 and Donkey Kong Land III, it is possible, but rare (no pun intended), to see corrupt save files when playing either game. This post will explain why this happens. It would be like Super Mario Bros. 4 without Bowser You have clearly never played Super Mario Bros. 2, then, since it doesn't have Bowser. So, by your logic, it's bad because it's different. Makes a lot of sense. So DKCR and DKC:TF don't have Kremlings. This "flaw" (I wouldn't call it tha...
