Re: DKL2 and DKL3 music notes

I'm quite late to reply to this, but thanks to both of you! I just updated the first post slightly, and I added ROM offsets for music in various screens in both DKL2 and DKL3 (e.g. the title screen, bonus stage screens, etc.), in case anybody wants to know how to change those (like changing the bonu...

Enter DKL3's Lost World early (English version only)

So I recently discovered a glitch that makes it possible to enter the Lost World without neeing 35 DK Coins. This glitch will only work in the English versions (v1.0, v1.1, and the prototype will all work), not the Japanese version. There are also some prerequisites that you need to be aware of: &sd...

Maps of all three DKL games

I know that some people have wanted to see this for a while, but I present to you all... maps of the entire DKL series! I used custom ripping tools to accomplish this -- the tool for DKL2 and 3 can be found here , and I'll eventually release the DKL map ripping tool. These maps cover every level ...

Re: DKC Atlas Level Mapping Project: BIG DKC3 UPDATE!

That would be cool if the map page can imitate the night transition effect the way it does in the games. One thing, though, is that the levels have lots of color per palette, so it would be a lot of colors to work with! Also, the transition is gradual (i.e. it doesn't change instantly from color A t...

I've looked at some of the maps -- while I am impressed at the ripping job (it must have been hard work), I do have to mention one thing -- I noticed that various areas that are off-screen look odd, and are generally incomplete. Rocket Rush exemplifies this issue, where there are lots of off-screen ...

Odd PFLOYD string in DKL...

No, I'm not making this up. At ROM offset 0x6F7A (in both the English and Japanese versions of Donkey Kong Land), you can find a PFLOYD string. It's followed by four other bytes, 00 00 05 03, and this ten-byte string is copied to AA00-AA09, AA40-AA49, and AA80-AA89 in RAM, for each of the three save...

It's nice that this has finally been released to the public! I like this build better than the 2003 build, even though it is far from finished. Donkey Kong Land 2 & 3 Map Dumper

Hello everybody, I have created a program that rips level maps from Donkey Kong Land 2 and 3. I don't know how SNES headers work, but I'm wondering if the DKC3 prototype header is similar to the final DKC3 header (minus the checksum, assuming the SNES uses one like the GB does, since the data will likely be different).
