Re: DKC SNES Trilogy: Differences between revisions

Yeah, meant NSTC. Four letters... both start with "N"... it plays with your mind.

Re: DKC SNES Trilogy: Differences between revisions

I think I heard a long time ago that most game developers will develop the game in NTSC format initially before making it in PAL, due to the technical difficulties involved. So it's not too out of the question that the NTSC 1.0 is earlier than PAL 1.0, despite the latter's earlier release date. The ...

Re: Kong Family Tree/Relationship Discussion

Actually, I think the only time she ever refers to DK is in the DKC3 instruction manual, and she doesn't seem all that concerned.

I think she also talks about DK in the DKC2 intro in the GBA version, but I doubt anyone takes that port as canon.

Re: Kong Family Tree/Relationship Discussion

It's possible that DK and Cranky aren't biologically related, but rather Cranky adopted DK, who Cranky raised to be a sort of successor to him, and that his mixed relationship of being DK's father/grandfather is just referring to Cranky's paternal role and advanced age. Also, I noticed that Wrinkly'...

Re: DKC SNES Trilogy: Differences between revisions

I tried Arne's method of getting a game over in the Competition Cartridge, and noticed that you're allowed to get back to the file select screen. Interestingly, the Competition Cartridge will accept SRM's from other versions of DKC, so I was able to rename one of my completed SRM's so that the Compe...

Re: DKC SNES Trilogy: Differences between revisions

All of the ROM's I own are unhacked and have been verified using programs such as NSRT. Perhaps a good idea would be to also have the checksums of all of the official DKC ROM's on your website, just so that people know which ones are the hacked ones. Also, I just remembered another version specific ...

Re: DKC SNES Trilogy: Differences between revisions

Kind of interesting... A major difference I noticed between the English PAL/NTSC to the German PAL is that they give you the option to have the game's text in French... I guess they assumed that there are more French players in the states than German ones. :?

Re: DKC SNES Trilogy: Differences between revisions

Hi, all. I haven't checked out the forums in a long time and missed all of the discussion on version differences. Hope I can catch up. In DKC, there's a glitch with the barrel cannons that you can perform when you're switching Kongs. You must have both Kongs, and you must be standing next to a barre...

Re: Weird Rocket Rush Warp Glitch...

I'm not absolutely sure which one it was, now that you mention it. It could have been an emulator (in which case, ZSNES 1.42.)

I'm going to play through Rocket Rush many times to see if I can get myself sent to that weird place again. I just wish I knew HOW I did it...

Re: Every banana can be collected - and other LIES.

Skidda's Row's Impossible Banana.PNG There's also an impossible (not to mention hidden) banana in Skidda's Row. What's Rareware got with burying bananas in the snow? Although this isn't classed as a banana. I remember Buzzer Barrage having hidden items in ground patches (the ones that you n...

Re: Differences between SNES versions? (input very welcome)

I've been taking an interest in the differences between the game versions as well, and have already posted two videos which show version-dependant glitches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYMJ2g9ZG6w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV23LreFTeU As I posted under the description for my "Over the I...

Weird Rocket Rush Warp Glitch...

I encountered a really bizarre glitch in Rocket Rush about a year and a half ago, and I'm unaware of how it occurs. So forgive me if this glitch report is incomplete... I believe I was playing on an NTSC version of DKC3 on my SNES, and had just gotten to the end of the rocket section of Rocket Rush....
